November 2, 2014 2:04 am at 2:04 am #1039398bp yiddParticipantIn boro park there was nothing it was a completely normal shabes
November 2, 2014 2:57 am at 2:57 am #1039399sm29ParticipantI tried to do some things that we don’t usually do, like we sang zemiros. Haven’t done it in a while. It was a nice enhancer. The project’s site has nice stories that are inspiring to read. May we use our good inspiration to keep growing
November 2, 2014 7:58 pm at 7:58 pm #1039400oyyoyyoyParticipantThought it was a bit of a flop till i saw the frum papers this week. Doesn’t look like theyre just pumping it up, seems lagit

November 2, 2014 8:46 pm at 8:46 pm #1039403ivoryParticipantAll the more a pity bp didn’t take part
November 2, 2014 9:31 pm at 9:31 pm #1039404bp yiddParticipantWe’re not interested in it and besides where do we have room for guests ?
November 2, 2014 10:16 pm at 10:16 pm #1039405ivoryParticipantRoyal “we”? There are thousands yidden in bp who are interested and have room! Speak for yourself!
November 2, 2014 10:28 pm at 10:28 pm #1039406ari-freeParticipantIf you’re not interested in it then don’t be surprised when your children aren’t interested in Shabbos.
November 2, 2014 10:44 pm at 10:44 pm #1039407bp yiddParticipantI’m the community representive so what I say goes for everyone in bp
November 2, 2014 10:50 pm at 10:50 pm #1039408👑RebYidd23ParticipantI’m the community representive, so wee have a bit of a problem.
November 2, 2014 11:29 pm at 11:29 pm #1039409147Participantsm29
I tried to do some things that we don’t usually do namely, that I spent Shabbos in Yerusholayim, to spite the Hamas who tried to scare us away from Israel this past summer.
November 3, 2014 2:24 am at 2:24 am #1039410golferParticipantAri-f, that seems a little harsh.
Children are self-centered creatures. Having guests at the Shabbos table is nice as far as being mechanech them to do Hachnasas Orchim. But a lot of kids will enjoy Shabbos if they have their parents’ undivided attention at the table. They’ll enjoy talking and eating and singing and spending time together during Seudos Shabbos. Yes, even if that includes a little bickering with their sibs. I don’t know if sm29 has kids. But I’ll bet if he does, they enjoyed the Shabbos project without any unfamiliar guests.
November 3, 2014 2:39 am at 2:39 am #1039411bp yiddParticipant@rebyidd no ur Flatbush representative I’m the boro park representative phishteists ?
November 3, 2014 12:49 pm at 12:49 pm #1039412ari-freeParticipantyes I realize it was too harsh. Just as you don’t want to turn people off from Shabbos by being harsh about it, I also shouldn’t turn people off from doing kiruv and hachnosas orchim by being harsh about it, making them feel guilty, etc. Torah should be made pleasant to all Jews and not just newbies.
November 4, 2014 4:49 am at 4:49 am #1039413bp yiddParticipantHave we clarified who’s the representative of what?
November 4, 2014 4:54 am at 4:54 am #1039414👑RebYidd23ParticipantNo. I’m the representative of both.
November 4, 2014 5:16 am at 5:16 am #1039415oomisParticipantAnyone have the challah recipe used for the challah baking part of the project?
November 4, 2014 3:42 pm at 3:42 pm #1039417bp yiddParticipantNo your not my friend I’m the representative but
We’ll see who wins the election for representative today
November 4, 2014 6:09 pm at 6:09 pm #1039418👑RebYidd23ParticipantThe election doesn’t count. I’m permanently the representative of both. And I know what you are. You’re the representative of Norway.
November 4, 2014 6:20 pm at 6:20 pm #1039419bp yiddParticipantHow are you the representative of bp you don’t even know Yiddish you know what you can be a foreign ambassador for the non chassidim still in bp
November 4, 2014 6:27 pm at 6:27 pm #1039420👑RebYidd23ParticipantWhy says I don’t know Yiddish? And I’m a representative of everyone in Boro Park. You are the representative of Norway who sits in at our meetings to make sure our decisions do not affect Norway. (By the way, why did Norway send you? No other country has a representative who comes to make sure we don’t affect them.)
November 4, 2014 6:42 pm at 6:42 pm #1039422bp yiddParticipantDie kenst takeh redden Yiddish ? And you have to be a resident of bp to be representative
November 4, 2014 6:51 pm at 6:51 pm #1039423👑RebYidd23ParticipantAs the representative of Boro Park, I make the rules. And who says I’m not a resident?
