How should people handle slow poke or immobile pedestrians buried in the their smartphones while crawling down the street or slowly walking and talking or simply not moving while chatting and blocking or slowing pedestrian traffic behind them on the narrow or busy street.
(While the preceding question primarily pertains to inhibiting other pedestrians, the same issue could be applied to these folks crossing the street and affecting vehicular traffic.)
Make up a cute ticket like sheet, like a $1.00 for Tzedakkah fine, that in a nice way tells them how inconsiderate they’re being and hand it to them as you walk by.
Are you referring to slowpokes (who are buried in a smartphone or chatting with someone) walking too slowly or you’re referring to someone standing immobile (also chatting or browsing or daydreaming)?
I have the same problem with drivers stopped in front of me at a red, so engrossed in their little toys not to have noticed the signal changed. Recall that I have no horn (gasp!!), I have no choice but to wait patiently (that’s a new concept I learned – since owning my car!!!), until the guy in front realizes (two greens later), or someone comes in back, makes a racket and frees me.
“YiddishKite” has been pretty quite lately. Things are gonna change when (if) I get another car, featuring a working horn. BEWARE!! (honk) REVENGE!!!! (beep)
Get a horn app on your own phone. Then, sneak up behind them (dno’t worry, they’re too engrossed to notice) and give them a powerful BEEEEP. Why should only drivers deserve it?
