I am in middle of sorting through the previous seasons of clothing I have from my children. How do you sort and what do you keep. What do you find that you pass most from one child to the next?

2.plastic containers with lids are good because they are see-thru.otherwise labeled AIRTIGHT shopping bags are fine.
3.putting fabric softener sheets in keeps the smell fresh and pleasant.
4.fold it neatly.
5.give away what’s too small for YOUR YOUNGEST and throw out ultra-faded,curly-collared stuff.
6.label specifically:SUMMER 2011-BOYS OR GIRLS WINTER PJS 6X-8
7.DO NOT INSULT PEOPLE BY GIVING THEM WORN OUT OR TORN STUFF.
November 24, 2010 2:32 pm at 2:32 pm #712883SJSinNYCMemberWe use plastic bins and a label maker to neatly label the items.

Or pass on to next in the family, and get back when done/need it.
November 24, 2010 3:43 pm at 3:43 pm #712885PosterMembereclipse, you sound very organized.
I wash everything before I put it away, now when I wanted to reorganize I noticed that some things had yellow circle stains that were not there when I put the stuff away, do u know what I am talking about?
November 24, 2010 11:02 pm at 11:02 pm #712886eclipseMemberi think that’s the oxidization.that’s why not everything is worth saving (you can give it to a friend’s kid who can wear it now).and thanks,i’m glad to help.
November 25, 2010 9:56 am at 9:56 am #712887PosterMemberwhat does oxidization come from? Can i prevent it. I had some stuff that got ruined, I tried washing it multiple times, and I am sure I didnt put it away with these stains.
November 25, 2010 3:52 pm at 3:52 pm #712888eclipseMemberfor a white gown or items too valuable to just give away there are fabric or other special coverings so whatever time/exposure does to create those mysterious stains…does not happen.
November 25, 2010 4:15 pm at 4:15 pm #712889PosterMemberThese are not gowns, but good stretchies or little kids clothing etc. I was really surprised to see these round circles of stains, which I know I didnt put away like that…
November 25, 2010 6:28 pm at 6:28 pm #712890deiyezoogerMemberoxy clean works wonders and by the way to put away old cloths use plastic containers. and also something that might work, wash the cloths first before putting them away. good luck
