How do you feel when someone stares at you? You can be walking straight, when someone from behind you starts straing at you, and you can suddenly “feel” the staring and turn around to see the starer. How was it possible to “feel” being stared at, even though the starer wasn’t in your line of vision?
I’m too unremarkable to be the subject of a stare. But if I were to be stared at, I would imaging the feeling would be a mixture of humilty and gratitude.
(followed by a bow and kisses blown to my audience!)
Of course you cannot feel a stare. However, we do develop an intuition for the type of circumstances when it is likely that someone would be staring at you.
Thus, if you are walking up the stairs and someone is following behind you, it is pretty likely they are staring at you. Because for those 15 seconds, you are the only thing to look at besides for stairs, and stairs are even less interesting than you are.
usually your brain sees it through peripheral vision but you dont realize youve seen it. So you actually did see that person staring at you you just dont remember it exactly
