In this part of the world it is a huge problem and a big fraud that creates false hope for many and costs people loads of money. STAY FAR AWAY! It is very sad that I have seen so many frum people sucked into this and similar MLM schemes; Reb Eli Teitelbaum A”H also had some choice words for these pyramid sales scams.
At one time every schlepper in the former Soviet Union was on it. I used to see millions of bucks worth of the overpriced trash come into Moscow cargo terminal as I had business there. And the security guard in my office building tried to sell me a bottle of their dr**k shampoo for $18 as he figured I would use it on my beard. Right.
Minkow who is mentioned in this article indeed was and probably is indeed a fraudster and was the Madoff of his day with his ZZBest stock fraud scheme. However, two wrongs do NOT make a right.
