It is not supposed to reappear for some 80,000 years so what are you gonna do about it?
November 28, 2013 2:17 am at 2:17 am #989838🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantI’m not.
November 28, 2013 2:22 am at 2:22 am #989839OURtorahParticipantim canadian!
November 28, 2013 2:23 am at 2:23 am #989840rationalfrummieMemberI am celebrating the incredible nissim and niflaos of chag chanukah as well as giving thanks to hashem to for being able to live in America, a true medinah shel chessed. No turkey or shopping though.

November 28, 2013 2:42 am at 2:42 am #989842ChanieEParticipantWe’re having our family dinner at lunchtime so people can get home to light. No turkey, though – they are very expensive and nobody likes turkey that much. If we had (a) more people and (b) more money, I would go for the Turducken from Evergreen. Only $190.
November 28, 2013 2:44 am at 2:44 am #989843☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantThe 8th of Teves doesn’t fall out on Dec. 11th very often either, but I don’t plan on doing anything about that either.
November 28, 2013 3:20 am at 3:20 am #989844🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantI would only eat the sweet potatoes and pumpkin pie anyway.
November 28, 2013 3:50 am at 3:50 am #989845yeshivaworlderMemberTurkey and stuffing latkes and carrot kugel and potato poppers and mashed potatoes and gravy on Friday night! Pumpkin-chocolate bread and sufganiyot for dessert – the best of both worlds
November 28, 2013 6:16 am at 6:16 am #989846live rightMembersmiling politely when ppl wish me a happy “thanksgivakkah”. and grimacing unpolitely when they ask if I have a “menurky”.
What Jew in their right mind would buy a menorah they cud only use once??
(that comment was not directed towards the preschool teachers who send kids home with wooden menorahs that can rlly only be used once- since they burn down the first night.
attn: wood+ fire= bad idea).
November 29, 2013 4:48 am at 4:48 am #989847147ParticipantI am celebrating the same way I celebrated in 1861 with just 3 differences:-
1) this time I took color pictures whereas in 1861 I took Black & White pictures.
2) This time I am reporting back via computer whereas last time I reported back by via telegram.
3) This time I went to my meal of Turkey with Latkes by car whereas last time I went to my meal of Turkey with Latkes in my carriage drawn by horses.

What do you mean????? It’ll be good again in 78,000 years.
November 29, 2013 8:37 pm at 8:37 pm #989850bekitzurParticipantY’know that “turkey” in Hebrew is “Hodu”… turkey = thankfulness.
November 30, 2013 11:22 pm at 11:22 pm #989851writersoulParticipantI didn’t. Usually I like shticky things, but I don’t even usually celebrate Thanksgiving.
My friend was telling me all about her Thanksgiving dinner, and she asked how ours was, and I was like, what, the pizza? Yeah, it was very good.
