On a regular day when driving to shul is permitted, can you park your hoverboard, segway, or scooter inside the shul?

it wouldnt be apropriate to bring it into the actual room of davening bt you can put it in a side room or lobby

What if you want to lock it somewhere? Can you do that?

I can see how it wouldn’t belong in the main sanctuary.

Would a shul have a closet or place to lock it in the front area?

Or maybe use a bike lock?

Do shuls have security cameras inside? I didn’t think about it but there was the lost tefillin of blessed me memory search with the video footage.

Usually a coatroom, depends on the place but you can usually leave it there for davening without a problem.

Put it in the same place you’d leave your bike.

I think iacisrmma was simply stating for NYC… please feel free to add hoverboard and segway regulations in your area or other areas

Can they at least be driven/rode on sidewalks?

there arent any regulations on such things in lakewood, but i think they are a lack of kavod for the shul

But where do you park it? I would be concerned about it being stolen if it was left outside.

LB: Thanks – In NYC, segways and hoverboards are considered “moving vehicles” and therefore need to be licensed by NYSDMV. NYSDMV does not license such vehicles and therefore cannot be used on any public property including sidewalks.

My shul allows scooters and bicycles in the hallway although there is room for only 2 or 3 bikes.

That explains why I’ve never seen anybody using (so-called) hoverboards in NYC.

I’m waiting for a hoverboard that can actually hover.
