does anyone know the halachos abt them? cuz s/os getting me one from isreal but i heard u x wear it straight on ur skin cuz has shem Hashem and x wear in bathroom w/o covering it twice and stufff…. anyone??? cuz mayb ill just get a personal hebrew letter instead of a posuk if it has halachic problems…
thanks!!!
January 21, 2013 6:05 pm at 6:05 pm #921325snowbunny3318Memberwhy would there be any halachos about them? There is nothing wrong with them. Also, if you cover your collarbone (and based on this post, you are worried about them touching your skin), then there should not be a problem with that.

January 21, 2013 6:39 pm at 6:39 pm #921327snowbunny3318MemberI have one and I know a number of girls who wear theirs all the time in the bathroom with no problem (I love how lately coffee room has been talking about teenage girl- visiting E”Y status symbols!) There are so many girls that wear them that I am pretty sure rabbis would say something if your could not wear them in the bathroom. Plus, they never spell out the actual letters of HaKodosh Baruch Hu’s name.

January 21, 2013 10:01 pm at 10:01 pm #921330snowbunny3318MemberI got mine when I was in Israel two summers ago. I have a pasuk on it. I only wore it twice since I got it. I don’t even remember the pasuk on it. My advice to you is to pick something you will be able to translate and remember.
January 21, 2013 11:03 pm at 11:03 pm #921331getalife67Memberits actually a bigger problem than most ppl think. even if you write ‘hey’ or ‘daled’ for Hashem or ‘elokim’ with a ‘kuf’ its still a problem. consult with a raabi before writing a pasuk. one whos familiar with the problem.
and snowbunny even though everyone does it doesnt mean its right. my rabbi never said anything about it but when i asked him he said its a big problem and he cant necc blame the stores but ppl are being choteh like that.
