Hillary planned on appearing at a rally to protest against the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on September 22,2008 that was supported by many Jewish groups, including the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, the National Coalition to Stop Iran Now, United Jewish Communities and the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York. She canceled her appearance when notified that Sarah Palin was going to be a guest speaker at this event.
Stopping Iran is not important enough that party politics gets in the way? And I thought that Hillary “reaches across the aisle” and goes beyond partisan politics.

“Hikind to Hillary: Reconsider Cancellation & Attend Anti Ahmadinejad Rally
September 17, 2008″
As is being widely reported by the media, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton has canceled an appearance at a New York rally protesting Iranian President Ahmadinejad on September 22, after organizers blindsided her by inviting Republican vice presidential candidate and Alaska Governor Sarah Palin.
Organizers announced yesterday that both Clinton and Palin are expected to attend.
That would have set up a closely scrutinized and potentially explosive pairing in the midst of a presidential campaign, one in which the New York senator is campaigning for Democratic nominee Barack Obama while Palin actively courts disappointed Clinton supporters.
Clinton aides were furious – and reportedly first learned of the plan to have both Clinton and Palin appear when informed by reporters.
After learning of the cancellation by Hillary Clinton, NYS assemblyman Dov Hikind told YWN:

September 17, 2008 7:41 pm at 7:41 pm #622089squeakParticipantWhy isn’t Palin cancelling? Because she will be the main event considering her current status. To Hillary, it’s not about party lines as much as it is about becoming the sideshow. I understand why she cancelled. I imagine she would cancel if Obama were to turn up, too (though we know he would never participate in a protest against this guy).
