Does anybody know a good recipe for herring, like a good shmaltz in cream sauce or matjes or any other family heirloom recipe.
I buy the fillets in the blue package, I don’t remember the name (Santa something?).
I put in onions, coarse black pepper, onions, and either canola oil or tofutti parve sour cream. Very good both ways and much cheaper than buying the containers.
