    Would you really feel comfertable going to a place that you’ve just announced for all to see you’re going there? How would a date feel if they saw this post

    Cold Stone Creamery, right near the Belt. It’s off of Knapp St near Avenue Z (I’m not sure what the street it’s on is called). I’m pretty sure it’s in Sheepshead Bay.

    Date in Sprinkles or Sweet Choice? That’s gotta be a joke. No one would dare.

    I’ve been on a date to Sprinkles (love the place). I frankly couldn’t care less what people think (neither did my date).

    But I have also gone there, picked up ice cream and then gone across the street to the park (if it wasn’t too dark and deserted) to sit on the benches there near the street (so it wasn’t Yichud).

    Picking up ice cream at sprinkles and then going to the park is one of my favorite dates. (It’s really simple, I don’t have to feel bad that my guy is shelling out tons of $$, and it’s quiet and comfortable- weather pending. No awkward lounge situations etc).

    Good luck!

    @LovebeingJewish: You ask a very good question, although our “friends” are correct. A date to an ice-cream parlor is hardly a date, unless:

    1. You are engaged as s2021 wrote;

    2. You are not really interested in this woman;

    3. You have a very tight budget.

    Even if it’s #3 classier to go to a nice cafe like Spoons (13th Avenue and 50th Street) than sit in an ice-cream parlor like teenagers. Their fat-free muffins cost as much as an ice-cream cone/cup.

    @truthbetold: Since the posters on CR are suppose to be anonymous, how would anyone know who the couple is sitting in the ice-cream parlor?

    A date should never be in public somewhere where people who know you are likely to bump into you.

    On my first date with Eeees, we ran into a bunch of her classmates at the pizza store. While it was a bit embarrassing at the time (only because we’re both not attention-seekers, not because we were embarrassed to be dating), we look back on it and smile about it today.

    Help! is there any nice place to go and get … around flatbush/midwood area?

    Not really. Brooklyn isn’t really known for having a kosher store for anything you can think of since there just aren’t as many Jews in Brooklyn as out of it.

    Try someplace out of town like Winnipeg, Canada.

    theres a great yogurt place in cedarhurst called ”off the wall” , you make your own sundae and pay by weight (not your weight, the weight of the yogurt and toppings)
