Don’t freak – you can’t go wrong – just cover the loaf with water – add 1 cup of sugar (less or more, depending on your taste, 2 Tb salt, 1 teaspoon pepper, 1 onion, 2 carrots(optional). Cook for about 1 hr, then take off the loaf paper, and cook a little longer to absorb juices.

You can add in a few slices of celery, too. Seeallsides has it covered. Use the veggies in the sauce, it really DOES add to the homemade taste. I also like mine sweet, and I know someone who adds some almond extract to the cooking water.

Costco sells a superb mango salsa. I take the roll of fish, pour the salsa over it (you can do this, of course, with any type salsa), cover it and put it in the oven for about 2 hours.

Or you can pour marinara sauce over it (paper off) and bake it in oven 2 hrs with or without veggies (zucchini, peppers, onions, mushrooms).

But of course, this is not the authentic way. Jews have to eat everything sweet, even fish.

You actually can make it the way Tomim says, but add sugar and make it sweet. it’s yummy.

Or add chili powder and make it spicy!
