When someone describes a boy as a gavra what do they mean? Is it negative or positive?

Gavra means a person, I would ask the person to be more specific in what they are referring to.

Gavra sounds like Gevurah (strength), or in the Gemara it says Gavra Rabba–a great man—who has reached his Gevura (which is 30) or potential (which is any age).

A boy called a Gavra is a positive compliment.

it means he is not a cheftza rather a gavra.

There are two brisks, because there are two dinim. Rav Aj is for the gavra and rav dovid is for the cheftza

positive. As in a real man.

Of course, I may be biased 🙂

Gavra means man. To call a boy a man is a positive thing I would think. Like, he stands up for himself and such.
