I was in the park playing with my children. A girl of about 8 came up to me and asked me, ever so politely, if I could push her on a swing. I thought it strange but smiled at her and told her the swings were taken.

She asked me the same thing again and I then noticed that she had Down’s Syndrome.

I went with her to the swings, hoping that somneone would get off for her. As we were walking towards them, a boy hopped off. He hadn’t noticed her, but just got off for a second. Meanwhile, she hopped on.

I pushed her for a while and then had to go. Just as I was about to leave, a friend of hers arrived in the park and came over to push her.

We know Hashem’s looking after us, though we don’t always see it.

We often can see it with those in weaker positions.

    We say in Tehillim…

    “HaSh-m tzeel’cha, al yad yemeeneh’cha…” –

    which you can translate as…

HaSh-m ‘shadows’ you, i.e. accompanies you constantly, like your shadow, and is at your right hand.

Like you said, if we recognize it or not, He is ALWAYS right there.
