May 15, 2011 7:11 pm at 7:11 pm #767485aries2756ParticipantHow would you know if someone gave you an ayin hara?
May 15, 2011 7:34 pm at 7:34 pm #767486boredinofficeParticipantnot sure who R miller is. A few years back my wife did something like this with someone in EY who said some of us had A”H which she removed. not sure what happened after that…………
May 15, 2011 7:50 pm at 7:50 pm #767487BSDMemberDoes she charge $? Is she an ehrliche yid? Does any da’as Torah agree with this? Just wondering.
May 15, 2011 8:56 pm at 8:56 pm #767488☕️coffee addictParticipantThe gemara says if you want to remove ayin hara just say ben porat yosef ben porat alei ayin…… (there’s more to it if you want the daf just reply in the affirmative)

It’s ok if she does-so long as her # doesn’t start with 1-900 😉
I had a relative (recently niftar) who did it for his immediate family. He was an exceptional yid and a talmid chacham. I never spoke to him about it, but there seems to be certain mekoros for similar things such as what coffee mentioned. Anyone know the mekor?
May 16, 2011 1:50 pm at 1:50 pm #767494popa_bar_abbaParticipantAnyone know the mekor?
The mikor for these practices is that when Avraham sent his other children from keturah away, he gave them “matanos” and sent them to “eretz kedem”, the east.
I forget who says, the “matanos” he gave them were witchcraft.
This is presumably why the nations of the east are so influenced by witchcraft.
May 16, 2011 2:26 pm at 2:26 pm #767495HaLeiViParticipantAnd the Makor for those who mock anything supernatural, is that when Alexander the Great conquered the world, he spread Greek culture.

May 16, 2011 8:42 pm at 8:42 pm #767498ShrekParticipantI believe you are talking about the woman who uses melted lead.
I looked into this a few years ago & was told by a chashuve person in Yerushalayim that it is OK to go to her.
I went on behalf of a relative who needed a yeshua, and shortly after I went, her situation improved.
May 16, 2011 8:42 pm at 8:42 pm #767499midwesternerParticipantHer name is Aidel Miller. She is a great granddaughter of Rav Yaakov Yosef Herman of “All for the Boss” fame. She’s a daughter of R’ Avremel Kaufman, z’l, who was a son of R’ YYH’s second daughter, Fraidel.
May 17, 2011 5:01 am at 5:01 am #767500grw613Memberdoes any1 know and can any1 share a personal story that happened as a result of going to Reb. Miller? does it really work for any problem?
May 17, 2011 1:10 pm at 1:10 pm #767501ShrekParticipantI know of a child diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. Shortly after the ayin hora removal the doctors changed the diagnosis & were able to successfully treat the condition. If I didn’t personally know the people involved I would not believe the story, but it is 100% true.
I doubt that it works for any problem. But it can’t hurt to try.
May 17, 2011 1:26 pm at 1:26 pm #767502HaLeiViParticipantWellmeaning, you are talking about Reb Meir.
May 17, 2011 2:24 pm at 2:24 pm #767503adorableParticipantHOW WOULD YOU KNOW IF YOU HAVE AN AYIN HARA? MAYBE YOU JUST HAVE SOME THINGS GOING WRONG IN LIFE SO YOU SHOULD DAVEN? SORRY MODS FOR THE CAPS

FTR, I think its 13 people say Yud Gimmel on the thirteenth of the month… I heard it pretty close to the source (I think). Dunno if it works…
May 18, 2011 8:41 am at 8:41 am #767510HaLeiViParticipantSender, it’s not Maase Nisim. Just like medicin doesn’t take away s’char, neither does any other Hishtadlus.
