You are correct, but this was intended for illustrative purposes – to show a possible format that would allow people to easily track if a letter had been used or not.
You need a format where we can see the letters as they appear, also a clue (like “occupation,” “place,” “thing.”)
ICOT – rebbe takes the talmid’s work a step up… 🙂

I like puzzles (especially the logic type) and trivia. When my youngest “twists my arm” I’ll occasionally play hangman, but it’s not my favorite.

The only ways I know of writing the Hebrew letters are:
1) Use the “Character Map” application as described above. The “Times New Roman” font has Hebrew letters that can be cut-and-pasted into posts.
2) Do a google search for “hebrew typewriter”. That’s how I typed the post in another thread quoting the Biur Halocha from the Mishna Berura.
Either way it is a laborious process and took me a while – you may want to just cut-and-paste from above posts. Don’t forget to precede your posts with the backtick character if you’re making the “squares” I did, in order to force a fixed-width font.

Don’t give up.
It can be very frustrating to spend lots of time formatting something and then not have it come out properly, but as many posters (including moi) experienced on the HTML thread, eventually perseverance pays off.
It looks to me like the problem with your post is that your spacing was lost.
I suggest:
1) Start with something simple (to avoid the frustration of lots of lost time on failed attempts).
2) Don’t forget to prefix your art with a backtick (the character below the tilde [~] on the upper-left of your keyboard that looks like an apostrophe). This will preserve spaces between characters, and force the use of a fixed-width font.
We probably should start a second HTML thread – any volunteers?
ICOT – agreed. I was very disappointed when they closed the HTML lab thread. I think because we went off topic (as usual) to some “sensitive” topic like shidduchim…
