Each drawer or closet that I organize reveals different missing treasures from the past year.A photo or letter that slipped behind something, the back of my favorite earring, etc.
So?
Find anything UNUSUALLY INTERESTING today?
I’m still hoping I’ll find $100 bill in an old coat pocket or something!
April 8, 2011 1:46 am at 1:46 am #864837eclipseMemberOh! And I FOUND a solution to the great cleaning lady with the….aroma.
I lit 2 scented candles, opened almost all the windows, and gave her a bag of nice fresh clothes to take home. (The aromatherapy worked!!)
April 8, 2011 1:55 am at 1:55 am #864838ZeesKiteParticipantopened almost all the windows..
So who are your neighbors?
April 8, 2011 2:43 am at 2:43 am #864839deiyezoogerMemberdo you know what i found -out- today, that when you clean walls for pesach with a wet shmata and soft scrub, you don’t need to paint anymore. soft scrub (done right) does a wonderful job. it gives it a fresh look.
April 8, 2011 3:01 am at 3:01 am #864840eclipseMemberNon-Jews both sides.Why?
April 8, 2011 3:29 am at 3:29 am #864841commonsenseParticipantMy aunt called me for a phone number my mother had and I told her I would look for it. The next day I was sorting through some of my mothers papers and was not particularly looking for that phone number and there it was on piece of paper.
April 8, 2011 3:32 am at 3:32 am #864842ZeesKiteParticipant..opened your windows to direct the “aroma” towards.. (KIDDING!!!)
April 8, 2011 3:38 am at 3:38 am #864843OfcourseMemberdeiye, when you clean walls for pesach with a wet shmata and soft scrub, you don’t need to paint anymore. soft scrub (done right) does a wonderful job. it gives it a fresh look.
As long as you dont try that on ceilings. I did that one year and what a streaky mess it left, it was worse than in the beginning. Painted ceilings arent easily cleaned. I learned my lesson good.
April 8, 2011 3:48 am at 3:48 am #864844eclipseMember…towards the letter-writers!(kidding)
April 8, 2011 5:56 am at 5:56 am #864845m in IsraelMemberIs this an interesting find? A large handful of pasta (somewhat moldy, not raw) INSIDE my son’s boot! (No, I don’t usually clean inside boots, my toddler somehow got to it and dumped it all over an already cleaned room!) Does this mean I have to go back to all the closets and dump out each shoe to make sure there’s nothing inside. . .? And please, someone figure out for me HOW ON EARTH it got there in the first place!
Second traumatic find of the week: A whole Cheerio on the floor of an already cleaned room. I haven’t had Cheerios in my house in months!!!!! (Honestly I think this one may have fallen off the bottom of a table that was a kitchen table over a year ago, but has been moonlighting as a computer desk in above mentioned room. I didn’t scrub down the bottom of the “computer desk” as I no longer think of it as a kitchen table — I guess that’s the next thing on the list. . .)
April 8, 2011 6:33 am at 6:33 am #864846commonsenseParticipantm, one year after we cleaned our car from head to toe we found a pretzel sitting on the floor. We recleaned and were convinced it was as clean as could be, and soon after found cheerios. We could not believe it!!! Also had no idea where these things were hiding. My husband realized that there was a built in cupholder in the middle seat that retracted and when there was food in it(which was often) it sometimes got deposited inside the back of the seat and would fall out when it got jostled. the rest of the year we would not have noticed because our car is not the cleanest to be honest but when our car was spotless it became evident. We didn’t want to have a problem over pesach, so we took off the back of the car, cleaned and put it back on.
April 8, 2011 8:03 am at 8:03 am #864847chocandpatienceMemberOfcourse: I second that about no wet shmattas on ceilings. I did that last year to take off a mark and regretted it.
April 8, 2011 10:22 am at 10:22 am #864848Shticky GuyParticipanteclipse, 2 scented candles are cheaper than a gas mask but cost more than a clothes peg. Or buy her some scented bath stuff
April 8, 2011 10:57 am at 10:57 am #864849eclipseMemberSo far….Softscrub,a phone number,pasta,and a Cheerio!!
April 8, 2011 12:09 pm at 12:09 pm #864850yentishParticipantyou know your bag of bags? like the big shopping bag that you save to stuff all your little shopping bags in once you return from the supermarket? so i found a BAG OF BAGEL CRUMBS from one of those 6 packs of bagels, in the bag of bags. have now thoroughly cleaned that closet…

My latest find is a whole, wrapped wafer discovered in the Bris bag. Baby must’ve thought he’d be hungry after that ordeal.
April 8, 2011 7:45 pm at 7:45 pm #864857ShrekParticipantI found a pacifier in the pocket of an old jacket. as far as I know, my kids have been done with those for a good couple of years now.

April 10, 2011 5:28 am at 5:28 am #864859m in IsraelMemberWe had a box of Sukkah decorations that never quite made it out to the garage, and was sitting in a corner since Sukkos — I was covering it to put out when I noticed. . . a piece of wafer mixed inside!!! Is there ANYPLACE that Chometz doesn’t get????
April 10, 2011 5:43 am at 5:43 am #864860Know.it.allMemberwe start our bag of bags collection each year with the bags that we get at the car show (jaguar had some strong bags in ’06), and of course we double bag each bag of bagged fruits and vegetables when shopping at the fruit store.

April 1, 2012 9:51 pm at 9:51 pm #8648732scentsParticipantZK, yes i sure do.
in those olden times, I was just a reader, even now, I do not post much. I like reading and learning, rather than posting my opinions.
All I remember is that eclipse left us without any prior notice, I dont know her but I hope that all is well with her.
April 1, 2012 10:59 pm at 10:59 pm #864874ZeesKiteParticipantShe was such a personality. She had us ALL in the palm of her hands, reading and sharing her posts, stories, saga. It was so riveting, moving. She indicated earlier that she’d leave, she came back for some while and then sort of just left. I too miss those lines, posts, masterful threads.
April 2, 2012 12:06 am at 12:06 am #864875147ParticipantLet you know, after I perform Bedikas chometz.
