Chavua Tov,
Eli
September 29, 2013 2:54 am at 2:54 am #977743147ParticipantGolders Green is in the United Kingdom where they speak English.
It is about 200 miles away from the Eiffel tower where they speak French, and even there, at the Eiffel Tower, all notices & announcements are also posted in English.
September 29, 2013 2:31 pm at 2:31 pm #977744eliyahou1590MemberThank you for this very interesting post.
I’m sure there are French speakers in Golders Green.
September 29, 2013 6:53 pm at 6:53 pm #977745Torah4MeParticipantI know Golders Green quite well and my wife speaks french, does that qualify?
September 29, 2013 7:06 pm at 7:06 pm #977746tahiniMemberThere are indeed French speakers in GG and some too in Porat Yosef which is just down the road.
September 29, 2013 8:43 pm at 8:43 pm #977747The Best BubbyParticipantThere are French speakers in Rabbi Bassous’ shul, 187 Golders Green Road, and in Rabbi Doron’s shul on the corner of Golders Green Road and Golders Manor Drive. Also, there are French speakers in the Kosher Deli Butcher on Golders Green Road which is next door to Carmelli’s, the kosher bakery. Also, in Menachem’s Butcher Shop on Golders Green Road and the corner of Alba Gardens. Everywhere one goes in Golders Green and Hendon, there are many French and Hebrew speakers. Behatzlacha!

@Torah4me: I am currently living in Paris but I will bli neder move to Golders Green in 2014. That’s why I’m looking for french speakers in this neighbourhood. But I’m sure you can help me with this new environment.
@Tahini: I am looking for an ashkenazic shul.
@ The best bubby: Do you have the name of their communities?
September 30, 2013 9:11 am at 9:11 am #977749ChortkovParticipant147 – Is it your business to constantly provide useless information which has something to do with one of the keywords in the title? I don’t think ANYbody here wanted to know the distance between London and the Eifel Tower, or what language the announcements are. I am surprised you didn’t feel the need to slip in a comment about how many French people there are who support Zionism! Maybe leave off a bit?

October 1, 2013 12:46 am at 12:46 am #977753147Participant@Tahini: I am looking for an ashkenazic shul.
You Eliahou1590 will probably wish to end up at the “Golders Green Beth Hamedrash” Shul, more popularly referred to, as “Munk’s Shul”, @9 The Riding.
This will probably be very much the style you Eliahou1590 are seeking. By the way:- Which Shul in Paris do you currently attend? Where in Paris do you live? In which Arrondisement? or/& near which Metro Station?
Based on your remarks Eliyahou15902, your English seems to be perfect anyways.
October 1, 2013 4:34 pm at 4:34 pm #977754eliyahou1590MemberThank you 142
What type of shul is it? Hassidic, misnaged, modern orthodox?
I live near CDG-Etoile and I go to a chabad shul.
Ps: Thank you for your kind remark on my english. I will bli neder move to London in order to make my english better.
October 2, 2013 1:52 am at 1:52 am #977755147ParticipantWhat type of shul is it? Hassidic, misnaged, modern orthodox? It is a Yekkish Shul.
CDG-Etoile is right by the Arc de Triomphe, so sounds like a very expensive area. I was there recently. The 1 Metro Train and RER A Train go to that stop.
But now I am back home in the Orient, almost on the other side of the world from both the Arc de Triomphe and from Goldres Green.
October 2, 2013 12:05 pm at 12:05 pm #977756on the ballParticipantGolders Green is full of Antwerpians who all speak French
October 2, 2013 2:58 pm at 2:58 pm #977757eliyahou1590MemberThanks 147. It is but I am not looking for an expansive area. I’ve already been in Golders Green and I like the neighboorhood.
On the hall: Where can I find those antwerpians?

October 4, 2013 1:06 am at 1:06 am #977759eliyahou1590MemberThank you very much the best bubby! Thank you again for this awesome post.
I am looking for a haredi shul, even though I’m going to a chabad shul in Paris (there is no haredi shul in western Paris). Unfortunately, I do not know which one of the synagogues you listed is haredi.
The best would be a haredi shul where some people speak a lil bit of french.
October 8, 2013 1:07 pm at 1:07 pm #977760The Best BubbyParticipantI don’t know your age group, if you are married or single, with children, but the 2 shuls that are young and yeshivish are Ohr Chadosh and Kehillat Ohel Moshe.
Behatzlacha in all that you do always!
October 8, 2013 1:34 pm at 1:34 pm #977761Geordie613ParticipantIn Addition to Ohr Chodosh and Kehillas Ohel Moshe which are ashkenaz, you may also look up Imrei Shefer, which is nusach sfard, young, yeshivish, a few french speakers, and is at 19 Highfield road, top floor. The Rav is Rabbi Meir Rapoport.
There are quite a few Antwerpian french speakers at Dayan Ehrentreu’s shul which is listed above.
October 8, 2013 1:36 pm at 1:36 pm #977762rr6527MemberI’m from Golders Green. The area is full of every kind of Jew. Once you move to London you will probably try out a few different shuls until you find the one you are most comfortable in. I wouldn’t worry about it now….
June 19, 2017 10:29 am at 10:29 am #1298861shteigingawayParticipantNote that the details for Kehillas Ohel Moshe – Rabbi Stern are incorrect.
June 19, 2017 11:29 am at 11:29 am #1298877iacisrmmaParticipantshteigingaway: Are you saying that the information is incorrect today in 2017 or was incorrect even in 2013 when it was written?
June 20, 2017 8:13 am at 8:13 am #1299782Geordie613ParticipantOhel Moshe is is still at 100-102 Leeside Crescent, although it is ka”h much bigger today than it was in 2013. Rav Stern is still the Rov, and if you need his phone number I could get hold of it for you.
