Just make sure you are not buying the ones that have epiration dates built into them. They drop value very quickly.
December 10, 2010 7:32 pm at 7:32 pm #1000486YW Moderator-80Memberepiration definition: committing acts of piracy online.
December 10, 2010 7:37 pm at 7:37 pm #1000487Peanut ButterMemberlol Thanks Mod. Yes I meant expiration…though hmmmm now you just gave me some new ideas!

There are both temimusdik and untemimusdik singles guys. Obviously you have been dating the “un”s.
December 12, 2010 2:07 am at 2:07 am #1000489SacrilegeMemberWIY
Just the last one 😉
December 12, 2010 2:56 am at 2:56 am #1000490Good JewMemberI’m a man.
A wallet or a shawl is a great idea. Macy’s has great varieties of these!
Any gift should be something that the receiver would love to have but doesn’t feel him/herself desrving to spend money and get it for him/herself.
December 13, 2010 4:48 pm at 4:48 pm #1000491bptParticipantFreudian slip, but still a very telling line. I passed by a house on OP this weekend and realized that when I said I wanted a pony, what I really meant was…… (anybody care to finish the sentence?)
December 13, 2010 5:29 pm at 5:29 pm #1000492TheGoqParticipanti received a barnes and noble nook for chanuka and was very pleased
December 13, 2010 5:37 pm at 5:37 pm #1000493bptParticipantA nook at B and N? WOW, that is a nice gift!
When I go, I need to take whatever seat is available (lucky you, Goq!)
December 13, 2010 6:15 pm at 6:15 pm #1000494TheGoqParticipantvery cute bpt, for the uninformed a nook is an e reader you load books on it and read it anytime anywhere
December 13, 2010 6:32 pm at 6:32 pm #1000495SimpleKindaManParticipanti recconend a new pair of tzitzis … men love a nice new pair from tsitsis.
December 13, 2010 6:42 pm at 6:42 pm #1000496blinkyParticipantI said I wanted a pony, what I really meant was…… (anybody care to finish the sentence?)
What?
December 13, 2010 6:42 pm at 6:42 pm #1000497bptParticipantShows what I know, Goq. I thought you meant to write BOOK (but had a type-o and it came out as nook).
Wow, am I clueless. I really need to get out of the CR more often
December 13, 2010 6:46 pm at 6:46 pm #1000498yaff80ParticipantHow about:
a nice After shave (for the shaving guy)
Ipod,
Voucher at the local in car entertainment store (he can have reverse sensors fitted or a handsfree)
December 13, 2010 7:11 pm at 7:11 pm #1000499lkwdfellowMemberSacrilege – Bourbon/Scotch/Wine of the month club?? What’s that? sounds interesting…
December 13, 2010 7:45 pm at 7:45 pm #1000500nfgo3MemberThis is an odd time of year to ask about gifts for men on a frum web site. Are a lot of boys born in December, so that everyone is wondering what to give them for their birthdays? Chanukah ended almost a week ago, so it can’t be that. That leaves … Tu B’Shvat? No one ever gave me a TBS gift.
December 13, 2010 7:59 pm at 7:59 pm #1000501FunnyBunnyMemberThanks so much, everyone, I got a lot of good ideas! Keep ’em coming, I’m sure others would love to hear more (including myself)!
nfgo3- birthdays, anniversaries, “just because”, and in general it’s interesting to hear what people have to say about the topic.
December 13, 2010 8:15 pm at 8:15 pm #1000502bptParticipantSorry, Blinky. Ok. I’ll give it till the end of the day and if no one gets it, I’ll start dropping hints.
December 13, 2010 8:23 pm at 8:23 pm #1000503TheGoqParticipantbpt u need a break? come on over i have chalvah
December 13, 2010 8:28 pm at 8:28 pm #1000504cantoresqMemberGenerally, all I really want from my family in terms of gifts are a card and a kiss. I’m pretty good at spoiling myself. Besides my wife is incapable of shopping for clothes for me, except for very casual wear. She and I have completely different opinions on what I [should] like in terms of suits and ties etc. She never learned enough about fountain pens or live bootleg chazzanut to make an aquisition there either (BTW conversely, I can’t buy her clothing or jewelry either without her being with me. Our tastes are that different). But there are two things I hope my family, specifically my wife, buys for me while I can still use them; a sterling silver menorah and a nice Megillah. I want her to buy them for me so when my children inherit them, the story will be “My mother bought this for my father . . .” She and I should be joined together in the tangential religious legacy we leave our children.

Its a club where you sign up (aka pay) and every month they send you a new bottle of bourbon/scotch/wine. There is also have the 3 month plan and the 6 month plan (some have 9 month). Some clubs vary in price depending on the “chashivus” of the bottles they are going to send you. I think the average year club runs at about $720 or $60 a month (thats for Bourbon)
BTW, I think I know who you are 😉
December 13, 2010 9:07 pm at 9:07 pm #1000506ronrsrMemberMy wife got me a really lovely dolly two birthdays ago. She put a red ribbon on it. Now I can move appliances easily.
December 13, 2010 9:10 pm at 9:10 pm #1000507lkwdfellowMemberSacrilege – am I the only fellow in lakewood who likes bourbon?
December 13, 2010 9:19 pm at 9:19 pm #1000509SacrilegeMemberMods dont let me guess 🙁
Anyways if your not single, I’m wrong.
December 13, 2010 9:35 pm at 9:35 pm #1000510lkwdfellowMemberSacrilege – B”H, i’m very not single….
December 13, 2010 9:38 pm at 9:38 pm #1000511SacrilegeMemberSeems like Lakewood is full of drunkards… 😉
December 13, 2010 9:39 pm at 9:39 pm #1000512WIYMemberSacrilege
You said you thought you knew who I was as well did you date EVERYBODY?!
December 13, 2010 10:04 pm at 10:04 pm #1000513bptParticipantNo, no, you guys are missing the boat by miles. What (I think) Sac is saying is, each of you have an element of someone that she did (or is about to) date, so with each layer that gets revealed in the CR, Sac sees someone she knows.
What she does not know yet, is that at the core of each of us, lies the same thing. Its just the wrapping thats a little different.
December 13, 2010 10:08 pm at 10:08 pm #1000514SacrilegeMemberWIY
It does seem that way sometimes…
I didnt think I dated you, I thought you were a guy, who… never mind LONG story 😉
BTW, I changed my mind who I think you are (partially because the first victim is engaged), LOL.
Someone sent me a resume of a guy and from the description I was like, o gosh this is for sure WIY.
December 13, 2010 10:10 pm at 10:10 pm #1000515SacrilegeMemberBPT
Exactly, lol.
December 13, 2010 10:19 pm at 10:19 pm #1000516WIYMemberSacrilege
Im pretty sure Im not one of your victims. Lol.
December 13, 2010 10:23 pm at 10:23 pm #1000517bptParticipantBTW, Ronsr…. in all this, your line was almost overlooked. Very funny!
(But I think I’m the only one who got it, as few of us have ever done any warehouse work, so who would know what a dolly is?)
December 13, 2010 10:42 pm at 10:42 pm #1000518haifagirlParticipantIs a dolly that uncommon? What do other people use to move heavy stuff? Israelis?
(Or is it just in Chicago that all the movers are Israeli?)
December 13, 2010 10:51 pm at 10:51 pm #1000519bptParticipantIts not that its uncommon, its just that few people know what they are called. They see them, but just don’t know the tech name for it.
The only reason I know, is because my first job was in a whse.
December 13, 2010 10:58 pm at 10:58 pm #1000520yaff80ParticipantA good scotch
December 13, 2010 11:57 pm at 11:57 pm #1000521SacrilegeMemberWIY
Oh, dont worry “you’re” safe, I’m saying no 😉
December 14, 2010 12:13 am at 12:13 am #1000522lkwdfellowMemberSacrilege – not drunkards, chas v’sholom, we just appreciate a good bourbon…
December 14, 2010 1:53 am at 1:53 am #1000524WIYMemberSacrilege
Do your “no’s” mean maybe? 😉
December 14, 2010 3:00 am at 3:00 am #1000525samzyrMembernothing like a bottle of macallan 30
December 14, 2010 4:04 am at 4:04 am #1000526WIYMembersamzyr
You cant even get the stuff anymore. Who still sells them?
P.S. I have a bottle but its being saved for the right occasion.
December 14, 2010 4:08 am at 4:08 am #1000527SacrilegeMemberWIY
Do you want it to?
December 14, 2010 4:55 am at 4:55 am #1000528WIYMemberSacrilege
Meaning?
December 14, 2010 5:20 am at 5:20 am #1000529Dave HirschParticipantIsn’t Macallan 30 Sherry Cask?
December 14, 2010 5:28 am at 5:28 am #1000530WIYMemberSacrilege
Yes I do want it to be saved for a special occasion. I dont think it makes sense to open such an expensive and chashuv bottle for just any occasion. My father is waiting for me to give him an excuse to open it 😉
December 14, 2010 5:31 am at 5:31 am #1000532real-briskerMemberDave – and whats wrong woth sherry cask? Not everyone holds of it to be a problem. I know many chosuva people that drink it.
December 14, 2010 2:15 pm at 2:15 pm #1000533SacrilegeMemberWIY
I was referring to the nos being maybes.
December 14, 2010 2:25 pm at 2:25 pm #1000534samzyrMemberwiy- there are store that sell it for the right price.
December 14, 2010 10:15 pm at 10:15 pm #1000535WIYMemberSacrilege
All of a sudden you decided I have potential? 😉
December 14, 2010 10:24 pm at 10:24 pm #1000536SacrilegeMemberWIY
No. You asked:
“Do your “no’s” mean maybe?”
So I said:
“Do you want it to?”
But if it makes you feel better to think so… 😉
