I wanted to know if anyone has any tips for getting the candles to burn brighter/longer. The aparments in my building open out onto a shared outdoor stairwell where everyone lights and last year I noticed that everyone else’s nerot seemed to be much brighter than mine – you could see the top apartment from the bottom of the stairs but mine were barely this little glow. Also while they stayed lit for enough time to be yotzei the mitzvah, they would always burn out before half the oil was done whereas everyone elses seemed to burn all night. I don’t think it’s a problem of wind because I us a glass case and also the wind should have blown out the neighbors’ lights as well. Last year I used plastic cups with wicks and floats. Should I maybe use glass cups? Maybe put the wick further into the float or less deep? Is there something I haven’t considered? I’d appreciate any suggestions
