Check the Sameach Music website http://www.jewishjukebox.com (and the related blog/podcast site – link should be there) and the music magazines like Jewish Insights and Country Yossi. Someone, and it may have been Sameach, was asking for original compositions within the past year. Hatzlocho!
September 25, 2008 2:09 pm at 2:09 pm #626581noitallmrParticipantPlease clarify your question. Do you want to know how to get your compositions onto a CD??? The answer is to simply record them convert to MP3 and burn on a CD…

October 2, 2008 8:41 pm at 8:41 pm #626583d aMemberDoes anybody know how much songs are sold for? Also, how does copyright work?
October 5, 2008 7:31 pm at 7:31 pm #626584World SaverParticipantsave yourself a LOT of aggravation and give it up – the best way is to put out an album, but only do that if your songs are really, really good or else you will lose a lot of money. Everyone thinks their songs are amazing so ask others that know these things.
October 7, 2008 4:17 pm at 4:17 pm #626585d aMemberWorld Saver: I am not a singer and have no plans of putting out my own CD. Also, my songs are good, but are not “amazing”.
You are very right about being expensive. There are many expenses in putting out my own CD. Singer; band; recording; studio; mixing; advertising; designing just to name a few. It also takes a lot of time and patience.
I am not looking to make a lot of money. There has to be a way of getting songs to a good singer without too much aggravation
AND BY THE WAY WORLD SAVER: I DON’T GIVE UP SO FAST

October 7, 2008 9:12 pm at 9:12 pm #626587d aMembernoitallmr: sounds like a good idea, however:
1. Heprobably won’t talk to me and
2. My songs are not good enough for Lipa. Shwekey, Levine, Stein, Dachs, Williger etc. whould be good.
If somehow I can reach someone lik Yossie Green and he would be willing to speak to me, then I can get somewhere.
October 7, 2008 11:58 pm at 11:58 pm #626589thinkinghelpsMemberDid you try calling Yossi Green?
October 8, 2008 12:14 am at 12:14 am #626590marinerMembereasy, get yourelf assured. easisiest way to make money in the music industry. worked for mbd, black hattitude, oif simchas, yishai lapidot, and lipa!
October 8, 2008 1:14 am at 1:14 am #626591Tell It StraightMemberThese days the man you should be looking for is Yochi Briskman. However, getting ahold of him is another story. And if you keep knocking your own songs, noone will want to hear them. If the composer thinks they arent amazing, then why would anyone else?
Hatzlacha
October 23, 2008 10:35 pm at 10:35 pm #626592d aMemberTell It Straight: I am not knocking myself. World Saver said that everyone thinks his songs are amazing. If everyone thought that his songs were amazing and put it onto albums there will be a lot of wasted money on productions that are not worth anytthing.
However, if albums ONLY had amazing songs, people will get tired of hearing them. Every album has good songs and one or two amazing songs. This way, people enjoy the album much better.
thinkinghelps, mariner and Tell It Straight: You all said to speak to diffremt singers and composers: Lipa, Yossi Green, Yishai Lapidot, Yochi Briskman etc.
How do I contact them and what do I say exactly?
In the past, I tried speaking to a number of singers. Nothing came out from it. Either they were not intrested, busy or said to call them at home. When I called them at their house, I coundn’t get them on to the phone.
What should I do?
October 24, 2008 4:55 am at 4:55 am #626593shkoyachMemberTry Nachum Segal….. He’s the guy that knows how to contact singers and probably how to talk to them too.
October 24, 2008 11:01 am at 11:01 am #626594noitallmrParticipantBlack Hattitude??? Are they not just a bunch of Bochrim?
October 26, 2008 4:05 pm at 4:05 pm #626595d aMembershkoyach: Shkoyach, great idea! I will try that iy”h. Will let you know what happens.
October 26, 2008 4:14 pm at 4:14 pm #626596Tell It StraightMemberYou have to actually meet them somewhere, give them a cd, and hope that they take five minutes to listen to it. Yochi is at Chasonos all year long, so you can try bumping into him there if you hear he will be playing…
October 27, 2008 12:25 am at 12:25 am #626597noitallmrParticipantAll these people singers composers gotta have a phone number which you can contact them on. Or mail them a recording with your email address and I’m sure they’ll give it a listen and tell you if it has potential.
November 30, 2008 8:46 pm at 8:46 pm #626598musicMemberI was by a wedding last week and Srully Williger was there. I asked him your question and he said to record it onto a CD and give it to a musician and he will spread it to composers. He didn’t say anything about copyright and how it works or about getting paid.
If anyone knows more info. please post it
