In honor of Independence Day in the US, a new edition of the Geography club where you list the hometown (city, village, province etc.) from which your ancestors or you left to come to America. You can reply more than once using different sides of your family if they came from different places.

I’ll start with my maternal grandfather’s line:

Kempten, Bavaria (1868) Before all of Germany was unified, so this saves someone for needing a “Y” place name

Grand Parents, Sheva Kehilos in Austria, Lockenbach and Kobersdorf. Mistaken post as they never immigrated but lived and died there.

My parents and myself emigrated to the USA from Sopron, Hungary on the Austrian boarder.
