So I guess that my thinking was pretty close in number, but a world apart.
June 10, 2009 4:02 pm at 4:02 pm #679507squeakParticipantand what did I say now to make you repeat that?
June 10, 2009 5:32 pm at 5:32 pm #679508June 10, 2009 6:32 pm at 6:32 pm #679509squeakParticipantHe’s younger than 29
June 10, 2009 7:14 pm at 7:14 pm #679510areivimzehlazehParticipantsqueak, squeak- personal info… <shaking my head in disappointment>
June 10, 2009 7:15 pm at 7:15 pm #679511moish01Membersqueak, he’s gotta be married and thanks b’cuz i just learned what TTYTT stands for
June 10, 2009 8:21 pm at 8:21 pm #679512areivimzehlazehParticipantI forgot to ask- what does TTYTT stand for? (or should I be avoiding this answer?)
June 10, 2009 8:22 pm at 8:22 pm #679513squeakParticipantareivim, it’s not 3 yr old stuff. People tend to see others in their own shadow. I assumed that it was your own bias that caused you to peg me as you did, hence I assumed you were in that bracket. Capish?
We are not the same age. I’ve given away mine a while ago, just like you did yesterday.
Also, I think I clearly answered the older/younger question – I thought you were 29; so I overestimated by a few years.
P.S. I don’t have a 3 year old (anymore) 😉
Moish – he’s not. But what do I know? Plus, I’m disappointed – I thought I made up TTYTT just now.
June 10, 2009 8:32 pm at 8:32 pm #679514moish01Memberha really? so wait, who said we’re thinking the same thing? i googled it, but maybe you intended to say something else??
June 10, 2009 8:40 pm at 8:40 pm #679515areivimzehlazehParticipantI capished before the lengthy psychological explanation- I was bating you (rub-off from squeak vs. mod39)
You shouldn’t let this knowledge effect the way you talk, my brain power remains the same (dat be good, or dat be bad?)

could you post it, and I’ll see it later? thanx
btw, will you be joining us for the night shift tonight?
June 10, 2009 10:28 pm at 10:28 pm #679521mepalMemberReady or not, here goes.
Lesson #3
Part 2
This one’s gonna be short and sweet cuz not much too it.
You are given a literary work and some kind of graph on the same topic (you hope, at least!). In the task box, it should say what they require you to write about. AFTER reading that and making sure you understand what is required, you read the passage and glance at the graph. Dont get scared off by the graph. All you need to do, is add in at some point of your essay, proof from you graph. For example, if you are writing about the dangers of teenage smoking and the graph shows an increase of lung cancer with an increase of teenage smoking, then in your essay, when you write ‘there is an increase of lung cancer in people that begin smoking in their teenage years’ just add ‘as we see in the blah blah blah graph’. That’s it! Nothing too difficult. The only part that scares people is the graph. But it shouldn’t anymore!
B’Hatzlacha!
Good luck with the rest of your finals!
June 10, 2009 10:30 pm at 10:30 pm #679522mepalMemberNO NO NO! This day was waaay too looooong already! I think I’m gonna hit the sack soon. Oh, and btw, my brother (another one) just had his third child today. A cute, little princess! Now that should be it for now (in the baby dept, that is)!

June 11, 2009 5:44 am at 5:44 am #679527June 11, 2009 6:02 pm at 6:02 pm #679528mepalMemberkapusta, now for our final lesson:
Lesson 4
Part 1
In part number one, you are being tested on your listening comprehension. A teacher reads a given passage that you are expected to write notes on. Based on the passage, you are supposed to complete the required task. For part number one, you are in luck! Because of the widespread use of texting, there are so many more known word shortcuts. Like, gr8, w/d, s/d/, w/nt, sh/nt. So at least when it comes to writing the notes, you’re pretty much covered. The issue is understanding what is being read to you. What some people do, is listen the first time the passage is read and write it up the second time around. If you do that, you might get stuck missing some information and not being able to fill it in. I think it is much more advisable to write down as much as you can the first time around so you get the basic jist of it and then, listen the second time around and fill it whatever you didn’t get down the first time. Then you reread your task and complete your essay.
chazak, chazak, kapusta! I wish you much hatzlacha on your regent, and hope it all goes well.
btw, these 4 lessons are all (basically) from memory (I did peak into a regent book just to make sure I got the parts right). I do not teach twelfth grade English (thank g-d!).
Now go take another well deserved break!
June 11, 2009 6:07 pm at 6:07 pm #679529kapustaParticipantmepal, thanx! you should teach twelfth grade english, you’re good!
you know what they say about breaks… the only problem with not doing anything is that you cant take a break from it (cough cough) 😉
