March 3, 2010 3:19 am at 3:19 am #1092963goody613Memberwas it better then powerade? is it as big a deal as everyone is making it out to be?
March 3, 2010 3:21 am at 3:21 am #1092964HIEParticipantIt’s pretty good maybe a bit better then powerade
March 3, 2010 2:09 pm at 2:09 pm #1092965Feif UnParticipantGatorade is very good if you have a child who gets sick. Children can dehydrate very easily, and the doctors will often recommend they drink Gatorade to keep hydrated. Obviously, if it’s needed for medical reasons, it’s allowed, but now you don’t have to wait and ask if it’s really needed, you can just give it without asking!
March 3, 2010 4:01 pm at 4:01 pm #1092966charliehallParticipantThe citrus flavors have actually been kosher for some time; they just did not have the stamp on the label.
March 3, 2010 5:31 pm at 5:31 pm #1092967tomim tihyeMemberPhew! Been waiting for this moment forever! I was having such a hard time managing without it!
(Sarcasm? From me?)
March 3, 2010 5:56 pm at 5:56 pm #1092968boredstiffParticipantwhy is everyone making a big deal abt gatorade being kosher? there are so many other kosher drinks out there!
March 3, 2010 6:39 pm at 6:39 pm #1092969Mommy613Memberi luv gatorade
March 3, 2010 7:50 pm at 7:50 pm #1092970anonymrsParticipantgatorade is a MUCH healthier drink than powerade, thats the reason doctors recommend for people to drink it. at one point, i was ONLY allowed to drink gatorade (no juice, water, etc) for a number of months. i have not felt the same since then, and i hope the stores where i shop will carry it soon.
March 4, 2010 2:56 am at 2:56 am #1092971HIEParticipantNow that I know it’s healthier then powerade I’ll drink it instead

March 4, 2010 4:06 am at 4:06 am #1092995bubbyrMemberIn America there are many kosher substitutes for Gatorade. In Israel there are none.
During the summers in Israel many adults, especially Americans who made Aliya, need additional electrolytes to prevent dehydration.
My children,(adults) often dehydrate during the hot Israeli summers and MUST drink electrolytes (gatorade, powerade, etc.)every day to avoid going to the hospital for an IV of electrolytes. I have been schlepping powder packages for years for them and I can finally stop now that gatorade here, and in Israel, has a hechsher. Yay !!!!!!!!!!!!111
March 4, 2010 4:57 am at 4:57 am #1092996anuranParticipantLet’s hope Gleukos gets its certification soon. It’s a much better product – higher in potassium, lower in sugar and sodium.

Please stick to the main topic. It really is unfair to the other readers of the CR when you discuss other irrelevant things. Thank you.
March 4, 2010 7:51 am at 7:51 am #1092998hereorthereMemberI tried Help for Alligators, once and did not like it.
I thought Poweraid, tasted better though all drinks are ruined because of the citric acid they put in to make it ‘tart’ which means nothing is really ever sweet, anymore.
If I wanted tart, I’d drink lemonaid.
March 4, 2010 1:08 pm at 1:08 pm #1093000Josh31Participant“but now you don’t have to wait and ask if it’s really needed”
When dehydration is suspected you always treat first and ask questions later.
March 4, 2010 3:30 pm at 3:30 pm #1093001tomim tihyeMemberThe latest reid is…
March 4, 2010 3:51 pm at 3:51 pm #1093002arcParticipantIronically Gatorade is called that because it was invented to give the Florida Gators football team an extra boost later in the game, it worked so well that it became a real drink.
Its not the biggest deal but I will be drinking it.
March 4, 2010 4:32 pm at 4:32 pm #1093003anuranParticipantarc, thank goodness it wasn’t invented at Florida State 😉
July 23, 2015 2:28 am at 2:28 am #1093004👑RebYidd23ParticipantHelp for alligators? How about help for lemons?
