Even though I vehemently disagree with certain opinions expressed here, I want you all to realize that you are amazing.
Where else in the world would you find discussion after discussion where everyone’s focus is to be the best they can be and so many topics are G-d centered. Quite refreshing from the generally self-centered world we live in.
Sometimes we are so critical of ourselves and others that we forget how above we are the rest of the nations.
Even reading of some coffee room topics show it!

wake up & welcome yourself to the generation of physical self-centeredness & instant gratification where everything is me me & only me.
ever heard the famous line that the USA is todays SODOM?
I wish we would finally all wake up & see the truth in life more then just 3 cars with 3 vacations etc… & then we all want to know why were broke & cant afford tuition etc….
live with the priority of get what you NEED not what you WANT

July 6, 2015 11:01 am at 11:01 am #1090591RedlegParticipantShloimy, Anyone, and I do mean anyone, who compares 21st Century America to Sodom doesn’t know what America is like and doesn’t know what Sodom was like. Every generation since Noach has claimed that it’s generation is the worst in history. While it’s true that American society has gotten looser over the last, say, 50 years, we’re still pikers compared some earlier eras. for instance, we’re nowhere near as libertine as Elizabethan England or Classical Greece or Rome, or even present day Europe.
Every dor has temptations and challenges to deal with and overcome. America is still, by far, the most religious of all the developed nations. I’m not talking about media sensations, I’m talking about average every day Americans. Our job in this, or any other society, is not concern ourselves with what the Kardashians are up to but to simply do the Ratzon HaShem as described in Tanach, Sha’as and poskim.
Yes life may be more than three cars and vacations, but they’re okay too as long as one remembers where they come from. There is nothing wrong with taking hana’ah from Olam Hazeh, the point is to recognize and to use one’s good fortune to the service of the One from Whom all blessings flow.
P.S. I do have three cars but I don’t take vacations.

We give tzedaka, have many various organizations. A lot of us are completely occupied with ???? ?????, with minimal pay. Come to any Yiddishe Kehilla and be pleasantly surprised.
Most of us place G-D in the center of our lives. Yes, MOST OF US.
and, as opposed to you, Redleg, while I’m on ‘vacation’ (vacation, sure that’s the word!!!), I have 0.75 cars. (one time, I think, it was in one piece)
