do you think it’s chutzpa that the 7-11 stores say they ran out of cups and kids are stuck without the free slurpee?
doesnt say anywhere its limited . from what I hear all the stores in flatbush pulled this shtick on their loyal customers
July 11, 2011 10:15 pm at 10:15 pm #784881deiyezoogerMemberThere are no free lunches!!
July 11, 2011 10:19 pm at 10:19 pm #784882deiyezoogerMemberOn that note do you think its a chutzpah for a clothing store to addvertize a sale and once you are in the store tell you that its only for last years suits (which was fine with me) and they dont fit them or make any alterations (which was not fine with me)???
July 11, 2011 10:29 pm at 10:29 pm #784883phillybubbyParticipantBring your own cup and see what happens!
July 11, 2011 10:33 pm at 10:33 pm #784884ReenJeensMemberi know that when i worked as a day camp counselor, we would talk our campers to the nearby 7-11 for the free treat, but sometimes the boy’s division would get there before us and therefore the store would run out of cups. It’s possible that that is what happened; that camps went with the campers, especially on a hot day like today, and the stores ran out of the cups. They should however, give you the small for free then if you ask politely. Simply explain that there are no more of the free size cups left and which cup should you use instead – you can even offer to not fill the cup all the way as to compensate for the amount the free size would give you.
July 11, 2011 10:47 pm at 10:47 pm #784885Pac-ManMemberI brought along a 100 pack of cups.
July 11, 2011 10:49 pm at 10:49 pm #784886chaplaintzviMemberhere they say “while supplies last”
last year, one of my son’s friends went to a 7-11 and was told that they were out of the free cup size. so he asked if he could have a large one for a dollar instead (less than a large one usually costs) and they gave it to him.
July 11, 2011 11:00 pm at 11:00 pm #784887showerzingerMemberFirst of all it DOES say it’s limited.Read both the sign on the door and their website.
Unfortunately, it probably is b/c certain Yidden have abused it in the past. I saw certain frum Jews today abusing the privilege and I don’t live in Flatbush.
July 11, 2011 11:26 pm at 11:26 pm #784888elikParticipantsame jews and no jews might abuse the privilege dont be anti semetic
yes we offered to bring our own cups
the store did not have a sign while supplies last
the storekeeper did allow a lady to get a bigger slurpee but noone else

Why are you blaming the Jews. If you were a gentile saying that, you would rightfully be condemned as an anti-semite. Just because you are Jewish you think you are immune?
July 11, 2011 11:38 pm at 11:38 pm #784890deiyezoogerMemberFor all those who have a problem with frum yiden abusing the system I”m just wondering why they dont open shop in a non jewish neighborhood….
July 12, 2011 1:35 am at 1:35 am #784891good.jewMemberit says while supplies last
July 12, 2011 1:36 am at 1:36 am #784892showerzingerMemberDroid and Elik- who are calling me an anti-Semite I said that
I SAW instances of Chillul Hashem today and in the past to back up my statement. Second of all, halivai anti-Semitism should be people being disgruntled of Jews taking advantage of a freebie! Somehow to label a fellow Jew pointing something out with the same terminology used for people like Hitler yms”v and other such Sonei Yisroel is DISGUSTING and IMMATURE besides just downright PATHETIC!
July 12, 2011 3:42 am at 3:42 am #784893commonsenseParticipantwe were told it was to the first 1000 customers per store. when we went around 8pm they had plenty cups but you had to pay if you wanted it. we ended up paying because i didn’t want to disappoint the kids and it is very hot out!

A few years ago, on Black Friday in the afternoon I went to a store to get a GPS at their doorbuster price but the antisemites that ran the store claimed that they were sold out of that item.
July 12, 2011 12:53 pm at 12:53 pm #784895full_of_rageMemberBezalel- Why must everything be due to Antisemitism? I think we are far too quick to play that card. Banning Shechita, and Bris Milah.. those are issues where perhaps there is antisemitism involved.
You yourself said “on black friday in the afternoon….” do you know why it’s called a doorbuster? to get people in the store when they open to “bust through the doors”.
