Last year I made a sign to remind people to say ??? ?? ???? ?????. It includes clear instructions if one forgets.
Please print and hang in your Shul/Yeshiva. (Ladies can hang it where they usually daven.)

We say it for the first time at Ma’ariv this coming Thursday night, December 4th.

We have been saying it over a month, u guys are always behind…..
secretagentyid- So am I, since I was Zoche to be in Israel during marCheshvon. Being that it is already more than 30 days since I am requesting veSein Tal uMotor, I can assume I have requested, so thank you but no Thank you to sayIDidIt for your kind offer of this veSein Tal uMotor sign.
Next year 2 reasons, why commencing vSein Tal uMotor on evening of December 5th:- 1) December 4th is a Friday evening. 2) Even if December 4th was a weekday evening, being prior to February 29th [Civil Leap Year], it would anyways be pushed off to evening of December 5th.
If you think you will forget to say V’sain Tal U’motor, what makes you think you’ll remember to look at the sign?
Or do you regularly pause in middle of davening to take random glances around the room?
This Monday night ??? ????? starts saying ??? ?? ???? ?????.
& B’H some rain came down tonite in Israel.

I am finally IY’H going on my solidarity trip to Israel this week, so will finally be commencing “veSen Tal uMotor” as soon as I am Zoche to set foot on Admas Kodesh BE’H later this week.
I am well cognizant of what a great Zechus it is to be Zoche to be able to set foot into Eretz Yisroel, just thinking back of how Moshe Rabbeinu prayed 515 requesting/imploring haShem to enter Eretz Yisroel, and sadly was denied this privilege.
In more contemporary times, just thinking about Jonathan Pollard who shall be coming out of jail in 13 days time, and yet shall be denied opportunity of going to Israel, for another 5 years.
If you’re going just for a trip and planning on staying there, I don’t think you’re supposed to say ??? ?? ????.

I am such an Ohev Yisroel, that I go exceedingly often to Israel {& even this is not enough in my opinion}, and yes:- This is the 4th time in 10 years, that I am handling this “veSen Tal uMotor” saga, and the 4th time in 10 years, that I shall be handling it the same method as the previous 3 times.
scared driver delight:- I shall not stand in Israel idly by, when our Dear Israeli Brothers are in dire need of rain, and just ignore their plight & be Poresh Min haTzibur refraining from joining them in beseeching rain from the Ribbono Shel Olom.
well, make sure to ask a competent poseik, because from the mishnah b’rurah 117:5 it would seem that according to everybody, if you’re planning on returning to chu”l, you shouldn’t say it.
When do people in chu”l start saying it this year?

147 & SDD – I believe that some say to say it in Shema Koleinu. But there are many opinions, and I don’t remember the different opinions off-hand.

A person would place a knot on a handkerchief (in my time) to remember something but then needed another knot to remember what the knot is for. What are all the ???? say ותן טל ומטר.

Put yourself a multi-year reminder in google calendar
Or use a phone siddur that does reminders. At least on a day you feel you need a reminder.
I tried accessing the Google Doc but it said I didn’t have permission.
BTW if someone forgets ותן טל ומטר and has to say it in shema koleinu, do they just say those 3 words? Or do they continue til haadamah? Or the end of the bracha?
I think that one should say until haadamah just before Ki atah shomea otherwise it makes no sense.
