Have fun!
Don’t forget to read between the lines!
And if you have any REAL jokes, feel free to visit the Jokes thread again. Until then, keep your “amusing” arguments here.
Thanks!

I’m stumped. -100
September 24, 2014 12:32 am at 12:32 am #1038599Patur Aval AssurParticipantHow about we seriously argue about the propriety of having an argument in the Jokes thread about “reading all threads”, or more encompassingly, the propriety of having a tangential discussion in a thread. I agree that one should not just start talking about something else in the middle of a thread. But if something is brought up in such a way as to relate to the discussion at hand, then I see nothing wrong with that spawning its own discussion. Often times the tangent ends up becoming the ikkar – see for example http://www.theyeshivaworld.com/coffeeroom/topic/not-losing-daas-torah#post-535895
If the original discussion is still ongoing in full force, and the new discussion is also a big discussion, then I could hear that it should be moved to another thread. But in absence of that, I don’t think there is such an issue, especially in a thread such as the Jokes thread where each post is really self-contained so it doesn’t detract anything if there is another conversation going on (as opposed to in a thread which itself is one conversation where a second conversation can detract).
September 24, 2014 1:21 am at 1:21 am #1038600SayIDidIt™ParticipantPAA, in a way you are right, however, the point of the Jokes thread (IMNSHO) is for someone looking for humor to get a laugh. When a (really not funny – even between the lines) discussion is stuck in middle of it, it ruins the whole point of the thread.

Sorry, I can’t help it if you don’t get the joke.
September 24, 2014 2:43 am at 2:43 am #1038602sm29Participanti agree that we should keep the joke thread for pure jokes.
September 24, 2014 6:15 am at 6:15 am #1038603👑RebYidd23ParticipantThe Jokes thread is not a discussion.
September 24, 2014 1:25 pm at 1:25 pm #1038604Patur Aval AssurParticipantDid anyone insinuate that it is?
October 29, 2014 6:52 pm at 6:52 pm #1038605Patur Aval AssurParticipantRandomex, did you see the retraction I issued?

October 30, 2014 10:59 am at 10:59 am #1038606RandomexMemberYes. I’m working on a response.
It really can be annoying not having any way
to get another person’s attention, eh?
Just yesterday I saw for the first time
responses written to me nearly a week ago,
and someone responded to a post of mine after
more than a month. There’s no way to know if
someone’s ignoring you or simply unaware –
we all have plausible deniability. 🙂
October 30, 2014 12:20 pm at 12:20 pm #1038607cozimjewishMemberRandomex – right. Like:
“Randomex would you please enlighten me as to how that was apikorsus….”
(Me, on the things kids did/said thread)
“Randomex, are you male or female?”
(Showjoe, on the mistaken lyrics thread)
……..
(I have a strong suspicion that the ones I just mentioned were ignored rather than not seen ;P)
