I have seen a trend of so called heimish people driving Mercedes and BMW cars. My question is , according to the rabonim that held that the nazis where amolek and according to the gemarah that says that Germany is edom. Why would you drive these vehicles? Maybe its because the holocaust was so long ago so they have become less sensitive, or maybe certain people are more sensitive than others or maybe in another 10 years nobody will think twice about buying a German car. And dont hack me up about using a bosch mixer.
September 12, 2018 10:51 pm at 10:51 pm #1590416JosephParticipantDriving a luxury car is no better or different than living in a fancy home.
September 12, 2018 11:47 pm at 11:47 pm #1590420Doing my bestParticipantyour Toyota: it’s Japanese and if not for japan the Germans wouldn’t have gotten so far.-half of Lakewood has a Camry and Sienna.
your house: one of the workers who built your house was German. QUICK, TAKE YOUR HOUSE APART!!!if using German stuff for your benefit, who cares who made it? yes even if it’s amalek!
what exactly is the problem?
will you not use something made in Europe, Russia, or the middle east because they formerly or currently had or have anti-Semitic issues. you could live in the elements and starve but most other people would rather not.September 13, 2018 12:16 am at 12:16 am #15904401ParticipantFord assisted the Nazis. You aren’t going to find a clean car manufacturer.
September 13, 2018 12:17 am at 12:17 am #1590444yehudayonaParticipantDMB, that Sienna is actually made in Indiana and that Camry is made in Kentucky, A little over a third of German cars sold in the U.S. come from Germany, Most come from the U.S. or Mexico.
September 13, 2018 8:45 am at 8:45 am #1590456Avi KParticipantHow do “heimish” people afford these cars? In any case, what about British cars? I knew a Holocaust survivor who said that he would buy German products because they changed but not British products because they did not – and they were equally responsible for the Holocaust by closing the doors to EY. What about French cars? The Vichy government helped the Nazis round up Jews. What about Ford products as Henry Ford ym”s was a rabid antisemite and Nazi supporter. Japan (@Doing) was actually pretty good to Jews. Interestingly, when the Germans sent them copies of the Protocolsthey were decided that it would be good to partner with the Jews.
As for the Germans being Amalek, Rav Chaim Soloveichik said that Amalek is anyone who wants to wipe out Am Yisrael, which would mean that today’s Germans are not Amalek. In fact, even those European leaders who do not particularly love having Jews in their countries want good relations with Israel. Theirs in a new type of nationalism that respects others’ nationalisms. Hungary for the Hungarians, Poland for the Poles and Israel for the Jews.
September 13, 2018 8:45 am at 8:45 am #1590457Uncle BenParticipantFf; OK, I won’t hock you up about the Bosch mixer, but what about the Bosch dishwashers, ovens and refrigerators? Can I use audio equipment such as a microphone stand boom arm made by K&M in Germany? Where does this end?
September 13, 2018 8:45 am at 8:45 am #1590490FrumflyfisherParticipantThe nazis didnt drive around in a ford .
September 13, 2018 10:24 am at 10:24 am #1590528akupermaParticipantShould we be concerned about driving cars made by persons of English descent due to the expulsion and massacre of our ancestors by the ancestors of the modern Americans? Perhaps refuse to buy anything made by Blacks (descended from the Egyptians) or Hispanics (some of whose ancestors lived in Spain)? Boycott goods made by descendants of the Romans (pretty much all of Europe and the Americas).
And how do we deal with the fact that cars are really produced internationally. We could refuse to use anything produced by goyim.
And should we deal with the fact that for the last 70 years Germany has been friendly to Jews whereas many of the countries that opposed the Nazis are no longer friendly.
Also Germany has a retirement age, so we can be quite assured that no Nazis built a German product you buy today.
September 13, 2018 10:24 am at 10:24 am #1590597JosephParticipantAvi, the contemporary Hungarians are from the better countries insofar as relations with Jews and Israel is concerned.

September 13, 2018 10:24 am at 10:24 am #1590634FrumflyfisherParticipantThats a very nice justification, however mercedes an bmw went hand in hand with the nazis . They where SYMBOLS of the nazis. What this boils down to is a lack of sensitivity not justification. We can justify anything and everything. The proof is that 20 years ago no one would dream of driving such cars but for some reason it has become more accepted now. And dont think for one second that today’s germans where not born from their nazi grandparents. Just wait a few more years and thier “amaleki” side will become more and more apparent.

September 13, 2018 12:52 pm at 12:52 pm #1590675NOYBParticipantThose companies are not the same BMW and Mercedes that they were during the war. Both were sold to different owners and no one who works there now worked there then. Besides, a vast majority of the cars are made here or in Mexico. Many of the things you use that have moving parts were engineered in Germany or use Krupp steel, but you don’t have a problem with those? I assume, for example, that you don’t take the stairs in every building with a Thyssen-Krupp elevator. I also assume you take aspirin, invented by Bayer.

We do not buy German products knowingly.

To the ignornant Yidden, here are some excerpts from the review of the book “Mercedes in Peace and War”
The three-pointed Mercedes emblem and the Nazi swastika were paired in the eyes of the German volk, according to the evidence in the book. ”The company itself was a personal favorite of the Fuhrer, who generally rode in Mercedes cars, as did the rest of his entourage,” Mr. Bellon says. Jakob Werlin, an associate director of the company, was a personal friend of Hitler whose ties with the Fuhrer dated back to the 1923 putsch. When Hitler left the Landsberg penitentiary in 1924, the author notes, Werlin picked him up at the prison gates. According to American intelligence documents obtained by Mr. Bellon under the Freedom of Information Act, Hitler held a portfolio of Daimler-Benz stocks, which Werlin personally administered for him.
”On a massive scale, Daimler-Benz threw tens of thousands of men and women, including foreign workers and concentration camp inmates, into the battle to produce engines for the German air force,” Mr. Bellon writes. Daimler-Benz used Jewish women from the concentration camps at Ravensbruck and Sachsenhausen as worker-slaves. One group of female inmates working at Daimler-Benz was moved back to Sachsenhausen in the final weeks of the war, apparently to be gassed. They survived to tell the tale when the camp’s gas chamber failed to function.
Nebech, that today’s generation of so called frum Yidden have sunk so low as to justify in their own minds that driving a German car is something to be proud of.

In 1975, it hired outside management, closed older stores, and built modern ones. When these efforts failed to turn A&P around, the heirs of the Hartford family and the Hartford foundation, which owned a majority of the stock, sold to the Tengelmann Group of Germany. (wikipedia)

Genya, what about IBM? They sold the census technology that enabled the Nazis to identify and keep track of Jews. After the conquest of Poland it established a subsidiary called Watson Business Machines that contracted to the General Government, which administered the areas not annexed by either German or the Soviet Union (prior to Operation Barbarossa). It also had a German subsidiary called Dehomag which continued to operate after the US entered the war.

Seems like the people driving these cars are always the biggest balei geivas out there. You know what I mean… The ones that cut all the waiting cars illegally to get off on to the exit ramp. And of course never they never signal. Does BMW even have a turn indicator because I’ve never seen it used?
In a nutshell they are just very insensitive people that think about no one else but themselves. So why would they have a problem spitting on the mass graves of our parents? (And justifying it to boot!)

you are right ! those are so much worse people are inviting these amaleki products into their homes and ingesting amaleki products into their bodies ! This is so much worse than just drivign a car
I guess some people just lack the proper sensitivity
September 13, 2018 6:48 pm at 6:48 pm #15908551ParticipantVolkswagons are hardly luxury. People like its driving performance. German cars are better than Japanese. The Japanese tried to annex Alaska in WWII.

After he was deposed when he saw that he backed the wrong horse and tried to switch the Arrow Cross government shot Jews into the Danube and helped send others to Auschwitz. Thus you must believe that today’s residents of Hungary are not Hungarians.
September 14, 2018 7:12 am at 7:12 am #1591035apushatayidParticipantIncredible. To kvetch about the perhaps 1000 “heimishe” who buy cars manufactured by german corporations assembled in us , made of parts manufactured all over the world and then rant about their lack of middos, THIS bothers the op. Thats thousands and thousands of jews over the years employed, or continue to employee people from countries soaked in yiddishe blood as cleaning help, office help or in other ways bring them into their home, not a sound. That it has become an “it thing” for tens of thousands of hidden to go every year for 2 weeks and pump who known how many hundreds of thousands (millions) of dollars into the Yiddishe blood soaked Ukrainian hands, not a peep.

In any event, Netanyahu and Israel are great friends with Orban and Hungary.
September 14, 2018 8:26 am at 8:26 am #1591049bhyyParticipantJews driving German cars, especially those vehicles manufactured by companies so known for their activities during the Shoah, are thumbing their noses at the nazis who thought for sure there would be no Jews left after the war. It’s the ultimate slap in the face to the nazis that Shlomie Goldbergsteinweiss, a descendant of survivors is able to drive a Beemer, or a Benz, or an Audi. Note: it used to be that every cab and bus in EY was a Benz because of reparations.
September 14, 2018 9:10 am at 9:10 am #1591054JosephParticipant“able to”? Shloime isn’t “able to drive” a Jaguar or Lincoln?
September 14, 2018 9:11 am at 9:11 am #1591052Avi KParticipantWe see, in fact, that Hitler did not invade Switzerland, which even took in some jews (although it turned back others), Sweden or even Finland, which flatly refused to turn over Jews and even had Jewish soldiers fighting the Russians, despite the presence of German soldiers on Finnish soil.
September 14, 2018 9:13 am at 9:13 am #1591048Avi KParticipantJoseph, you are simply wrong. When Horthy saw that Germany was losing he declared an armistice and attempted to make a deal with the US and Britain in order to stave of the Russians. This is why he was deposed and Hungary occupied by the Germans. In an October 1940 letter to Prime Minister Pál Teleki, Horthy wrote:
“As regards the Jewish problem, I have been an anti-Semite throughout my life. I have never had contact with Jews. I have considered it intolerable that here in Hungary everything, every factory, bank, large fortune, business, theatre, press, commerce, etc. should be in Jewish hands, and that the Jew should be the image reflected of Hungary, especially abroad. Since, however, one of the most important tasks of the government is to raise the standard of living, i.e., we have to acquire wealth, it is impossible, in a year or two, to replace the Jews, who have everything in their hands, and to replace them with incompetent, unworthy, mostly big-mouthed elements, for we should become bankrupt. This requires a generation at least.”
Thus we see that his unwillingness to wipe out the Jews was pragmatic rather than ideological.
As for Netanyahu and Israel being friendly with Orban and Hungary, I have already posted that we are seeing the birth of a new nationalism that respects others’ nationalisms.
