I would LOVE to dress up on purim but i feel its not tzniyus for me… any suggestions on how to get this out of my system without compromising any values?
I know what you mean. How about a pair of earrings that you would never wear on a normal day? Or a really “loud” looking tichel? Have some fun with it. It is your chag too. I have done that, but only at home. I don’t feel comfortable leaving the house like that, but I have no problem greeting our guests who deliver mishloach manos. When is Purim again?
i was wondering.. what if i put on a huge costume that comletely covered me head to toe.. like a giant cookie monster or something.. and no one would know who or what was underneath..?
My mother has no problem “dressing up” for purim (then again she doesn’t leave the house that way)
(One year she bought a silver wig and braided it into two ponytails, wore some sort of nutty (tye dye or puffy paint or something) t-shirt, and had some kinda red schlappa (floppy hat) on top of the wig)
