We definitely need another social media site with no moderation. Trump’s former chief spokesperson, Jason Miller, started such a site called “Gettr” several months ago but had a falling out with the Trumpkopf who wanted nearly total $$ control for lending his name. Gettr has become a total cesspool for porno and racist and anti-semitic commentary given its no moderation policies.
If you were smart, you would have bought stock in the new publicly traded venture when the market opened this morning after shachris. You would have increased your investment by 350% by mincha and another 50 percent by maariv (in after-hours trading) as of 7:15 PM

Anyone hoping to browse, post or join an unfiltered, unmoderatorated forum/platform has really lost site of where their priorities and moral values should lie. Freedom of speech is great. I hope it gets up and running. But I hope and pray that no jew will be willing to immerse themselve in that kind of filth. Never thought I could sound so …unworldly but the stuff you guys expose to yourselves out there (according to what you have told us about here) makes me very sad for us. This isn’t preachy from me to you, I include myself in this nisayon as well.

Syag: Whose being “funny”…..that was a really serious comment. The YWN coffee room is actually one of the best political websites around where there are really smart people (yourself included on most occasions) with whom one can engage in civil debate. You too often see non-existant ghosts and impute motivation that isn’t there. I don’t think anyone in the CR “immerses themselves” in the garbage on other sites and thats one of the reasons we are here. Nor is anyone trashing your “prudishness”.

Then I take it back. I cannot vouch for what your intentions are, I can only respond to what is said. And sometimes I am called out for responding to what people said with claims that it wasn’t what they meant. It’s a lesson for all of us to be more thoughtful with our words I guess.

The phrase “big bad stuff” sounds more like a joke than agreement. And you have been a strong advocate against people being overfiltered (I made that term up, do you like it?) refraining from internet and relying on Jewish sources. The combination of those pieces made it pretty obvious you were kidding. I am not arguing with you that you weren’t, I am just trying to clarify where I was coming from. Perhaps I see things, perhaps people don’t realize that we aren’t telepathic.

Regarding people not immersing in garbage, not prevalent but definitely happening. Perhaps you are blessed to be unfamiliar with some of the specific sites, articles, podcasts, comedians, videos and books that have been referenced in passing during conversations. 🙁

If you eliminate the “moderating” process from social media, you will end up content many users find objectionable, and you end up as an accessory to crimes committed by criminals using the social media (e.g sale of stolen or banned goods). Facebook has this as a major problem.
