coffee addict: there is a wealth of info and research found online connecting higher IQ with particular emotional and personality characteristics. Rather not go into it here, but it’s easy for you to find if interested.
even if your iq was 200 i dont think i would know who you were…my iq is in the above 140 section too…but i dont think that that would identify me…

though its funny if i took an iq test right now i dont think id do too good… so obviously they aren’t 100% accurate at “detecting geniuses”.

Ted Kaczynski ym’s had a 167 IQ when tested in 5th grade.

Why were you tested?
6HZ1W3J – you may not be that unusual. Look up the book “Children above 180 IQ” by L. Hollingworth. Since that time, it has been found that children of 170-200 IQ exist far out of the proportion one would expect from the bell curve in the population.
The most reliable tests today only go up to 165, unless the child is tested at a very young age. I personally believe that while the same difference exists between 130 to 160 IQ, above that level academic accomplishment is more about personality and the tests get less and less accurate at differentiation between 170 and 200.
And in case you’re really feeling lonely, I know more than one person above 175 IQ.

Have those people retested by a real professional. (only 1 in 400 score above 145).

Pascha: Do you go trading war stories with your friends of who achieved the highest IQ test results?
My IQ is in the gifted range but I truly feel that this is a gift. I try to use it to help others (free tutoring etc.) I’m naturally curious and always wanted to know my IQ so I took one of those ‘real’ tests, not just a free online quiz and I consider my score accurate. My advice to those out there who are highy intelligent – don’t brag, you did nothing to deserve your IQ.

how off are those IQ online tests? i took the first one that i googled that said fast and accurate. it was fast, but don’t think it was very accurate – gave me an IQ of 150. (my real IQ, i’m sure is lower, not higher, in case anyone was wondering. ? ) anyone who really knows their IQ, can you tell me by how off these tests are?
I get more use out of knowing my zip code than knowing my IQ.

How quickly can you find out what is so unusual about this paragraph? It looks so ordinary that you would think that nothing is wrong with it at all, and, in fact, nothing is. But it is unusual. Why? If you study it and think about it, you may find out, but I am not going to assist you in any way. You must do it without coaching. No doubt, if you work at it for long, it will dawn on you. Because IQ tests tend to be normed on rather small samples, it is questionable whether there is any difference between an IQ of 145 and an IQ of 160. Also, IQ tests get re-normed about every two decades so a IQ score given today is not comparable to an IQ score from decades ago. This is known as the “Flynn effect”. One researcher has concluded that if the average American IQ today is 100, it would have been only 80 about 80 years ago. (Yes, people are getting smarter.)

There is no “e” in that entire paragraph. It’s a pretty common letter, so having it missing is noteworthy.
