December 30, 2010 12:24 am at 12:24 am #723021sem20Memberyou cant know if you fulfilled your purpose on this world because only Hashem knows what that is, but its your job to do your hishtadlus and to what your suppose to…Davening, learning, chesed, just doing mitzvos and things were supposed to do and leave the rest up to Hashem to tell you what to do! I hope i answered you question.

Hashem puts us in different situations every single day and every day we are presented with new and interesting opportunities to help others and make a difference. Any one of those opportunities can open doors to new paths and new promising and fulfilling purposes. Life is a cycle and as our lives go on so do our opportunities to do good, help others and be productive ovdei Hashem. So maybe I am fulfilling my purpose or maybe what I do is just a stepping stone towards my true purpose in life. Only time will tell.

Even if that one person who is helped is me.
(of course, my witty / sarcastic posts accomplish a whole lot more, but that’s debatable)
December 30, 2010 3:44 pm at 3:44 pm #723026AinOhdMilvadoParticipantThis is a question that one must answer on a DAILY basis.
It is, l’havdil, like paying taxes.
If one has a business, earns good money, but doesn’t pay his taxes the whole year, when April 15th comes around, he’s in BIG trouble. If he pays his quarterly taxes throughout the year, he should be in pretty good shape.
Likewise, if one makes a cheshbon ha’nefesh on a daily basis, an assessment of what he’s been doing, does teshuva for what he needs to do teshuva for, i.e. cleans his slate, so to speak, then when Yom Kippur comes around, he should be in reasonably, manageably, decent shape. If not…
