“No one just hurts others for the fun of it. There is something in them that is making them unhappy and is leaching their confidence.”
This is where we disagree. You appear to believe that in order for somebody to hurt another person, there be something “wrong” with them. I disagree. I think that a person who is completely, 100% emotionally stable is still perfectly capable being evil.
truth be told:
True. All I’m trying to point out is that somebody doing something bad cannot and should not automatically be blamed on something in the person’s upbringing.

I wholeheartedly agree.

Glad to hear it.
“Its quite possible that evil bein odom l’chaveiro does stem from psychological deficiencies.”
Probably in some cases, but most definitely not in all.

March 25, 2011 10:34 pm at 10:34 pm #757046GrandmasterMembertbt: mw13 said in some cases yes, and in some cases not. I’m sure you are not maintaining that bein odom l’chaveiro deficincies are in all cases due to a psychological problem. So what exactly are you arguing about with mw13?

I believe every person is born with a yetzer hara that entices them to be oiver both mitzvos bein adom la’Mokom and mitzvos bein adam li’chavairo. Physiological factors may increase the pull, but it is naturally there to begin with.
April 6, 2011 7:47 pm at 7:47 pm #757049GraceangelMemberI had a group of psychologists and doctors almost kill me. They put me on medication and labeled me all kinds of terms because I am a Christian. Stay away from the text book psychologist. They are frightening and indeed the ones insane. Psychology is actually, a form of communism. They pry, they brainwash and don’t ever believe it is confidential. They want to destroy free thinking.

With all aveiros, the rule is, “ain odom choteh v’lo lo” a person only sins, when they gain”.
What type of gain does one achieve by hurting another person? What’s the perceived gain? The gain is due to an emotional concern. Feeling good by hurting others is undeniably an emotional problem.
Now that our yetzer hora is also internal, he gets us to do aveiros through depression etc etc. So no, the yetzer hora would be unable to get a person to do a bein odom l’chaveiro, if all was very healthy psychologically.

April 8, 2011 1:54 am at 1:54 am #757054eclipseMembertbt…someone just told me that today…that the people who banded together to write me the most hurtful letter I ever got in my life
MUST GET A WARPED PLEASURE OUT OF CAUSING ME PAIN.
GraceAngel…”In English”:I believe he quoted a verse which explains that a person sins if he has something to “gain”(not spiritually of course) or because he is depressed.
April 8, 2011 3:17 am at 3:17 am #757055HealthParticipanteclipse -Was this letter recent or was it at the time of your divorce?
April 8, 2011 3:23 am at 3:23 am #757056eclipseMemberNo,Health…I MOVED ON!!It came today in the mail,signed by 6 relatives who haven’t moved on….But B”h I’m putting it out of my mind,with Hashem’s help.

April 8, 2011 4:05 am at 4:05 am #757060HealthParticipant“No,Health…I MOVED ON!!”
How could you move on if it came today?
Obviously, this is a reference to one of my previous posts. When I said move on – I meant get remarried.
Are these your relatives? And what do they want with you now -at this stage? And why is it “the most hurtful letter I ever got in my life”, if you “moved on”? If this truly is a derogatory letter – it deserves a response. I can’t advise you what -unless I know more.
April 8, 2011 4:20 am at 4:20 am #757061eclipseMemberHealth…yes,it was referring to ALL your previous posts.
Re: the letter. It was 5 pages long and so convoluted,I was advised not to respond to any of it.By phone,I told them not to contact me again.Pretty strongly.
April 8, 2011 4:48 am at 4:48 am #757062HealthParticipantMoving on – means things don’t bother you the same way it did when it was hot out of the oven. You didn’t move on because you still are very emotional about things people say about you and your “scandal” and you aren’t remarried.
April 8, 2011 5:00 am at 5:00 am #757063eclipseMemberHealth…I think I need to be more direct with you.STOP. Thank you.
April 8, 2011 5:22 am at 5:22 am #757064smartcookieMemberEclipse- I don’t know the details, but from what you wrote, it does seem like ignoring the letter is the best way around it. Keep strong.
2 questions:
1. are these your relatives or your ex family’s?
2. Don’t you ever think that your ex or his family members/friends read your posts here?
April 8, 2011 10:44 am at 10:44 am #757065eclipseMember1.mine,who keep in touch with ex.
2.no idea…and if yes?
