I’ve heard of non-kosher diets where you can purchase prepared meals to help with weight loss. Does anyone know if there is a kosher diet like this? I just can’t see myself following all the rules of weighing my food, and counting calories, carbs, etc. etc. If I could have pre-made meals, I could work with that.

Turn on some music and have fun
instead of misery of analyzing food

April 12, 2013 10:21 pm at 10:21 pm #945152gefenParticipantmewho- how can i get more info about this? I do live “out of town” ie: not New York. But I’d still like to find out more about it.

April 12, 2013 10:30 pm at 10:30 pm #945153mewhoParticipanti dont live in the 5 towns but if anyone reading this does, please look through the free newspapers and booklets that are available at the kosher stores. i would think they have an ad in there.

April 14, 2013 1:24 am at 1:24 am #945155MammeleParticipantKosher diet delivery it is. I don’t know anything about it, I just googled… The hechsherim look very good. Check it out.
April 14, 2013 2:09 am at 2:09 am #945156Git MeshigeParticipantAll diets are a waste of time. Common sense prevails. It boils down to mind over matter. I lost 60 pounds in 9 months with that mindset. Anyone that tries this diet and that diet and loses a bit then gains, is silly. Chnage your lifestyle and eating habits, you will prevail. Otherwise you will just be frustrated and put more weight back on
April 14, 2013 2:10 am at 2:10 am #945157MorahRachMemberI am not into these kind of diets, I don’t believe they are healthy but.. Medifast. I know a lot of frum people on it, they have kosher snacks and food that can be delivered.
April 14, 2013 4:37 am at 4:37 am #945158gefenParticipantThank you mammele and morahrach.
Did anyone every hear of kosherdietplans.com?
April 14, 2013 5:09 am at 5:09 am #945159WIYMemberGefen
I just checked their website. It looks ok. I would recommend that you find a frum nutritionist and have her help you put together meal plans. I think you would be very successful that way. I know many people who lost weight by going to a nutritionist and keeping to a diet plan. I wish you hatzlacha in your diet endeavors.

The thing with the other prepared diets is that you can only get the food within their delivery route. With Start Fresh aka -kosherdietplans.com they don’t give you the food but they tell you exactly what to make to eat. This might solve your prob, even if you live in the north pole.
April 14, 2013 5:29 am at 5:29 am #945161Mr SfardiParticipantI agree with git meshige 100%. All these diets are a big waste of time. I lost 50 pds in 5 months on my own. All it takes is will power & common sense. without will power you wont get anywhere.
April 14, 2013 6:05 am at 6:05 am #945162VogueMemberWhy not discuss what you should eat with your doctor? My doctor just told me to put bbq sauce on any meat I eat because I can’t, nutritionally, afford to be a vegetatian, but eating meat is usually very difficult because I have a lot of different food sensitivities to things that are “dry” and won’t eat meat, peanut butter, or stuff like that.
April 14, 2013 8:40 am at 8:40 am #945163haifagirlParticipantTry Kosher Challenge.
April 14, 2013 6:13 pm at 6:13 pm #945165mewhoParticipanti did do medifast which is basically diet doctors medical center. the doctor is a really nice frum man . he has offices in boro park, queens and the five towns. they give you a diet to follow , also have shakes WITH the meals and if you are too busy to cook they have some ready made meals available as well.
his name is dr leslie bennett
April 14, 2013 8:38 pm at 8:38 pm #945166oomisParticipantI think it is called Dr. Bo’s Diet Meals or something like that. Medifast is also a good choice.
April 14, 2013 11:27 pm at 11:27 pm #945167mewhoParticipantdo bo is different from dr. b. the dr. b one is dr. leslie bennett
April 15, 2013 1:25 am at 1:25 am #945168ezer15Memberi can tell you all this for a fact (even for a lady )is that exercise is always best bc all these diets are starvation diets and you look like a bone when your done exercise is slower but keeps you healthy and also you weight dosnt go down as much because muscles are heavy but ou look a lot better and exercise takes longer but in the long run…….
April 15, 2013 2:30 am at 2:30 am #945169gefenParticipantWIY – thanks for checking it out and for your good wishes.
Health – not quite the north pole 😉 but thanks for your post.
And to all those who recommended exercise, yes I plan to do that as well. Will keep you posted.
