I just realized not everyone is aware of that so I will share how that is done. After posting a comment immediately below the comment will be something that looks like this:
POSTED 20 SECONDS AGO # EDIT
The word EDIT can be clicked so that one can edit a comment. I will be dan lkaf zchus that many of you are unaware of this option.
November 17, 2010 8:47 pm at 8:47 pm #713549AinOhdMilvadoParticipant‘shkoyach WIY – did not know that!
November 17, 2010 9:15 pm at 9:15 pm #713550myfriendMemberIt’s only there for about 25 minutes after posting.
Maybe the mods can increase it a little, since I noticed if you edit your comment it goes back into the unapproved posts for a mod, even if it was already approved.
November 17, 2010 9:24 pm at 9:24 pm #713551Rak Od Pa'amMemberwhy didnt someone revael the secret of “edit” ages ago?
I could have used it more than once. In fact I went back to something I posted a minute before I saw this
November 17, 2010 9:31 pm at 9:31 pm #713552WIYMembermyfriend
If it lasted longer than 25 minutes it would take forever for posts to show up and would make the whole forum useless.
November 17, 2010 9:32 pm at 9:32 pm #713553oomisParticipantB”H yes, I have learned to use this feature more than once – just today, in fact.
November 17, 2010 9:39 pm at 9:39 pm #713554myfriendMemberWIY, If it lasted 60 minutes instead of 25, it would make no appreciable difference in how long it took posts to be approved.
November 17, 2010 9:47 pm at 9:47 pm #713555bptParticipantcan I edit the EDITED parts of my post?
November 17, 2010 11:07 pm at 11:07 pm #713556d aMemberThe EDIT button goes away once a post is posted.
And don’t complain that 25 minutes is too shorrt, cause it used to only be 5 minutes…
November 17, 2010 11:08 pm at 11:08 pm #713557d aMemberWhen your post is yellow, it means that it wasn’t posted yet. Only you can see it. (If you log out of your account, you wont see it either)
November 17, 2010 11:48 pm at 11:48 pm #713558myfriendMemberd a, the edit button doesn’t go away until its 25 minutes, regardless whether the post was approved or not. If the post was already approved, it will become unapproved until a mod re-approves the edited post.

November 18, 2010 12:10 pm at 12:10 pm #713564haifagirlParticipantAnd here’s a good case for EDIT:
And don’t complain that 25 minutes is too shorrt, cause it used to only be 5 minutes…
Had you edited it, you could have removed the extra “r” in “shorrt,” and moved the misplaced modifier.
November 18, 2010 8:17 pm at 8:17 pm #713565minyan galMemberUntil yesterday I thought that the “edit” button was for use by the moderators. Knowledge is good. Just a few minutes ago I posted on another thread. After I pressed “send post” I noticed that instead of “my friend” I had posted “my fiend”. Quite a difference. I just pressed “edit” and presto, was able to make a correction. Thanks to the OP.

A Freudian slip, mayhap?
November 30, 2010 2:36 am at 2:36 am #713568jhcvivgwryParticipantYou can only edit a comment in the CR but when you leave a comment by the news I don’t think their is a way to edit.
