    Did u know virtually all south korean families own a talmud in south korea then all the israeli families that own a talmud in all of israel.

    I heard about this rumor, so I asked my Korean classmates (I had 2 at the time). One said that she may have heard of it, but was certainly not familiar at all with what it was.

    The other one said he had no clue what I was talking about whatsoever. He was born in South Korea and live there until he was 10.

    The South Korea thing is a myth. They study selected Agaddas in some school systems as part of “international literature”. That’s it.

    There was a story a few years back that the Koreans wanted to find out why Jews were so smart and concluded that it was because of Talmud studies.

    Google it. There are lots of stories on it, including an Aish Hatorah and Arutz 7 articles.
