What is the most economical way to purchase diapers? (Either sales and/or coupons or otherwise.)
And what is the most economical method excluding sales – i.e. what is the most economical way to purchase diapers on a consistent basis?
Where can coupons be obtained consistently?
Is there a difference in quality between the brand names? (Pampers/Luvs/Huggies.)
Is off-brand of a lesser quality? (i.e. Costco/Kirkland.)

November 9, 2010 11:30 am at 11:30 am #708549SJSinNYCMemberUse cloth diapers. Its not that big of a deal once you get the hang of it.
November 9, 2010 2:12 pm at 2:12 pm #708550PosterMember1) By in bulk during sales and save receipts so that you can change the size if the need arises.
2)Don’t be afraid of to try a new brand. I live in Israel. Many Americans here buy either Pampers or Huggies. I decided to try Titulim Premium which is an Israeli brand. I find that they are great, significantly cheaper, and there are usually sales on them in big chain stores.
Same goes for wipes. I think I have tried every brand. I am not afraid to try new brands and I usually try the ones on sale. I never came across a BAD pack wipes. SOme are not as moist and others dont dispense as easily, but I found that I don’t need to buy the Huggies brand which is the most expensive.

November 9, 2010 3:23 pm at 3:23 pm #708552SJSinNYCMemberParenting magazine also had 20% off coupons. If you don’t get the magazine, buy one on ebay.
November 9, 2010 4:11 pm at 4:11 pm #708553PosterMemberI cant see myself using cloth diapers. I’d rather use disposable paper cups, plates and cutlery ( I use plenty of thosse too), but disposable diapers I am not ready to give up so fast.
November 9, 2010 5:00 pm at 5:00 pm #708554Sean Ben NoachMemberWe use cloth diapers and cloth wipes at our home. We prefer “fuzzy buns” diapers or “swaddlebees”, they are a lot different than the picture of cloth diapers that might come to mind from the 1950s.
A lot of people like an in between option called GDiapers. They are kind of a hybrid between disposable and cloth, I didn’t care for them, but they would be cheaper than regular good disposable.
The nice thing about cloth is you can buy them used at various places online for cheaper than new, and you can sell them when you’re done and make some money back, which is great when moving up to a larger size.
I know it’s not for everyone, but it is certainly cheaper.

2. Wait for a sale at your local store. Go buy a lot of diapers with the sale price and coupons. Buy a lot of them.
3. Sit back and bask in your savings and piles of diapers.

November 12, 2010 4:23 am at 4:23 am #708565A Woman Outside BrooklynParticipantJust read the other day that Amazon.com is either buying, or has already bought, diapers.com, which may explain why they have the offers. Wish that these things had been around when my kids were in diapers! However, my oldest was born just at the tail end of when Pampers used to have points on the boxes that could be used to get really nice toys. We got some very nice Fisher Price items that way, and then it was discontinued.
