oysh reb i know the feeling! i agree with alls- night numbers have a huge affect. do you have a sensor? if you do, do you notice any change over night? if not, you think youd be interested in getting one? i think its very helpful. since ive started with my sensor ive seen a huge improvement in my BS. ( i sound like a sales rep lol)

why you wanna switch docs? youre not happpy with the one your with or you think someone else will help you more?

keep strong!! i have confidence in you!!!!

    #980761

Reb – i so so sorry! i really feel for ya… (And continuing to pray..)

Keep strong, hold on a little longer… G-d CAN make it better and easier! We’ll figure it one day yet :-/ .. YOU CAN DO IT!! WE CAN DO IT!! WE CAN DO IT!!

coffee- well I saw it when the rep came so I knew what it was gonna look like. Im gonna call the trainer tomorrow iyh. Not sure when she’ll be able to come…they want to start me on insulin right away as opposed to the saline first so im excited cuz that means that when I start i really START!!! Im really excited! cant wait to not have to have these sharps containers :))) (ill stil have them i guess but they wont fill up as fast:)

Do you use the PDM to test your Blood sugars or you use a seperate meter? cuz the medical supply company that my insurance deals with sent me a seperate freestyle meter besides for the PDM? I dont know why?

    #980772

i happen to have a zillion meters all over so i test on whichever is closest then when i program a bolus i enter in the number. this way i dont take thePDM upstairs when i go to sleep cuz if i need it i have one up there. but i usually enter it in

dx3- thanks 🙂 Feels good that everyone is cheering me on!! :))

coffee- you have 2 pdm’s? How’d u get 2 of them? how does it work when you change your pod then they both connect to one pod???

    #980775
    cofeefan
    Member

no i have like 6 meters. one pdm. (well i actually DO have 2…. the old one then i upgraded to the new one so i still have the old one but its off, but its a backup incase C”V my regular one breaks….) theres a meter everywhere you look. so depending on where i am thats where i test and THEN i program into the PDM if i need to.

ur gonna love it!! if you have any questions, you know how to reach me 😉

And btw, I think I’ll be the only one from belgium!

i dont know exactly how i did it i am jst very on top of giving the CORRECT amount of insulin. bolusing 20-30 minutes before i eat meals also helped A TON because it makes me not spike. i think its really that i got my basals right (finally…)

its all from Hashem. HE is really giving me stregnth!

dont worry allsgr8 ull get used to it quickly! and youll see how much better managing d will be!! cant wait to hear your feedback!

    #980795

Yeah Allsgr8, can’t wait to hear what you say on the matter!

Cofeefan, did you say a 6.4??? Even to get much higher than that, not comparing to yours.. i can’t do this!!

cofee-hurray great for you that is amazing. i have been trying forever to get my a1c below 7. before i was on thw pump my average a1c was 6.5, but once i got the pump i am always above 7. that is because the pump knocked out most of my lows.

now i am trying to prebolus, and i have been doing exercise more often. hopfully that will help.

    #980797

    #980799

Yeah sounds good allsgr8! It was just an idea 😉 Cool that the other part of the idea worked!!

    Where IS everybody?!!

    #980800

Allsgr8, you still saying to keep positive?? It can get so difficult at times! i can’t seem to keep up the effort anymore! guess i’m losing the motivation.. And it’s so hard to care! It really hurts to!

i guess tomorrow is a new day..

C’mon Princess, of course im still staying positive!!! Are you kidding??! 🙂 🙂

Of course it can get difficult but we have to remind ourselves that right now this is what Hashem wants from us. He wants to see that we care about ourselves and about the body He gave to us and He will help us through it. Just show him that you are trying- but REALLY trying!! Keep davening and keep SMILING!!!

Dont give up trying becuase once you do itll be hard to gather all that motivation up again… you’re doing a lot better than you were when you first joined us over here and just that alone is great!! Keep it up and im praying for ya!!!

YOU CAN DO IT! YOU CAN DO IT!!! :)))))) :))))

i dont know if this has or hasnt been adressed in prior posts but i must bring it to your attention.

someone with diabetes was driving the other day and started to feel light headed. unfortunatley this person did not take their sugar tablet quickly enough and blacked out and hit another car which was parked. Baruch Hashem there were no pedestrians involved and the driver was not hurt either. its very important that diabetics have small snacks throughout the day to keep their sugar count in a safe range.

glucerna bars and drinks are a good quick snack.

    guess what guys?!?!?!?!

    the boot is OFF!!! yay!!

mewho- thanks for the reminder! i keep winkies in my glove capatment and the SECOND i feel even slightly low i pull over and take care of it. driving is scary enough without diabetes… thaks for pointing that out!!

    #980806

COFEEFAN!!! YAY!!!!! I’M SO SO GLAD FOR YA!!!!!!!! Kept meaning to ask you about it!!

AussieSwede, you looking low carbs or low calories??

Yeah mewho it’s sure important point.. The small snacks throughout the day though isn’t quite the answer..!

Allsgr8, your words are so good to hear!

tonight it’s one of those “just hurting” nights. My meter isn’t my friend anymore. i can’t look at the letters on the screen! It hurts so badly and it hurts too much to care!

I’ve done the past 2 nights both waking really high.. i don’t know i can do different.. .. g-d get me out of this!!

Everyone, I started on insulin in my pump today!! I’m totally “pumped” about it 🙂 I love it!! So convenient! no having to find corners and bathrooms to shoot in 🙂

    #980808

is the pump only for Type I ?
