Can anyone please tell me what type of symptoms/discomforts, experiences you’ve had after getting a dental implant tooth put into your mouth & for how long it may have lasted you? I need to have one done & I want to know what I’d be up against? Does the symptoms depend on who the specialist that performs the procedure is or does it have to do w/ the age of a person at the time of the procedure or how well a person takes to pain?
Please let me know your experiences if you’ve had any. Thanx.

You see, originally, I first needed a root canal on this particular tooth & it had to be redone cause I was having pain over there & a new x-ray showed some kind of possible infection. But, the root canal specialist couldn’t finish the job since he said it was too complicated of a job. He felt that I needed to remove the tooth & then put in an implant. So, I went to see my oral surgeon who took a look at my tooth & the x-ray he had from right before the root canal & he also thought that it should be removed & then put in a tooth implant 3 months later. So I just had the tooth extracted yesterday & next wk. will have the stitches removed.

March 11, 2011 3:50 pm at 3:50 pm #750607AinOhdMilvadoParticipantJust make sure it is done by a dentist SPECIALIZING in implants.
I have seen the work of some dentists who took a weekend seminar on the subject, and OY GEVALT!
They did not know WHAT they were doing, and the results were terrible.
BTW – Hummingbird…
They are NOT implanting a tooth, they are implanting a metal post in a hole created in the bone. The bone (hopefully) heals around it and secures it in place.
After that heals, a porcelain crown (fake tooth) is cemented on top of it.

March 16, 2011 3:16 am at 3:16 am #750609Pashuteh YidMemberSomebody just strongly recommended Dr. Weitz in the Five Towns.
I have also seen ads for Contemporary Dental Implant Center which claim to have much experience and the prices seem reasonable, but I do not know more about them.
