Dama was an adult at the time, and was presumably stronger than his mother. (He also wasn’t going to have to keep living with her…)

How old was the boy?

I am not sure in our frum world what would happen in this situation. Remember this boy is a problem, at risk like we call them. That is what his mother said in an interview.
