I know I said I hope not to post here anymore (and I haven’t for 5 months) but I find this appropriate to current events
The Gemara in Sanhedrin (97b) states according to R Yehoshua that if Bnei Yisrael don’t do teshuva, Hashem will send a king worse than Haman and Bnei Yisrael will do Tshuva so that Moshiach will come. So I was thinking maybe this applies to this government (Israel) with all the gezeiros coming out. How is this government worse than Haman you ask? Haman wanted to destroy our bodies while this government wants to destroy our neshamos by taking people away from talmud torah, permitting WoW etc.
any thoughts?

“Any group that holds a event against the wishes of the Gedolim”
That part isnt true as there were other Gedolim who were pro like Rav Auerbach and Rav Dovid Soloveitchik. Additionally that group considers their own leadership as the authority and do their own thing and dont care what Litvish/Yeshivish Rabbonim have to say on the matter.

As WIY wrote, there were many Gedolim pro the event, in addition to what WIY wrote, R’ Elya Ber, and ( I heard) R’ Malkiel. Its wrong to say that whoever went didnt listen to the Gedolim.

Inthe time of the Misyavanim and their Greek allies, since the gezerah was only against Torah (the Greeks loved Jews who gave up mitsvos), we concluded that couldn’t be from Ha-Shem, and responded with “this world” sorts of actions.

And appealing to the King for permission to stand up for ourselves against the non Jewish enemy.
And fighting the enemy on the 13th of Adar.
