    When emailing a cover letter and resume, do I use one document or two?

    I usually put the cover letter in the body of the e-mail and the resume as an attachment.

    you can either attach a resume and a cover letter as separate documents or you can do as Pac-Man says and attach a resume and use the body of the email as your cover letter.

    While Pac-Man is generally correct, oddly enough there are occasionally online applications that allow the submission of one document only. In such cases, the cover letter precedes the resume and is followed by a page break in the .DOC file.
