Barry – of course one should live in EY. My point is that because EY has special Hashgacha from Hashem, there can be negative developments (CV) if the people there don’t keep the Mitzvos. For the purposes of this topic, it makes it more likely than otherwise (e.g. Alaska) that Hashem would remove Klal Yisroel from our land, Chas V’Shalom.
Everything you said is regarding Nevuot is true, but it is not a done deal, and we shouldn’t treat it as such.

May 19, 2015 3:44 pm at 3:44 pm #1083150zahavasdadParticipantNazi Germany was a homoglot society with no real minorities except for jews.
The US is totally differnt, its a hodgepodge of comminities and different minorities. Usually Anti-semities not only hate jews, but basically hate everyone who isnt a WASP.
May 19, 2015 4:05 pm at 4:05 pm #1083151gavra_at_workParticipantAvi K – He has to explain people like Achitofel, Doeg, Achav and Menashe, who all lived in Eretz Yisroel. So nice theory, but No True Scotsman is not exactly an argument (especially when we know during the Bayis Rishon Hashem was Maarich Apav).
May 19, 2015 4:58 pm at 4:58 pm #1083152akupermaParticipantzahavasdad: Not only are most Americans of mixed ancestry, and the focus in the US has always been on skin color rather than ethnicity, but most of the anti-Jewishness expressed in the US comes from persons of Jewish descent (who for the most part are militant secularists who hate all religious peoples). The handful of nativists aren’t taken seriously, probably since most Americans are non-WASP and most who are “WASP” have fairly diverse ancestors.
So if we are eventually forced to move, it won’t be Nazi style racial anti-semitism, but probably communist/socialist style secularism that will also be directed against others religious communities.
May 19, 2015 7:21 pm at 7:21 pm #1083153BarryLS1Participantgavra_at_work: Only add to the mix that the Zohar says that Techias HaMeisim is to begin between 210-214 years before the year 6,000, with much to happen first. Look how close we are.
May 19, 2015 7:54 pm at 7:54 pm #1083154gavra_at_workParticipantBarryLS1 – Sorry, I don’t put much credence in anyone or anything who says anything about when Moshiach or Techiyas HaMaisim will be here. Other predictions have come and gone. Besides, if you are such a Baki in Nistar, what are you doing here? Better yet, can you give me the Powerball numbers for this weekend? 🙂
The Mods have my E-mail, I don’t want you posting the numbers here and everyone else knowing them also.
May 20, 2015 2:49 pm at 2:49 pm #1083155BarryLS1Participantgavra_at_work: Very funny. I don’t predict anything and the Zohar isn’t just “anyone or anything” and neither is the Chofetz Chaim, who gave us an indication of how things will play out, without a date given, but what he said is happening right before our eyes.
To answer your question of “what are you doing here?” I assume you mean in the U.S.? Well, I do act on my beliefs, not just talk like so many others. I made aliyah 3 years ago.
May 20, 2015 3:27 pm at 3:27 pm #1083156gavra_at_workParticipantBarry, you know what they say about assuming…..
The question was if you are a mekubal, you have better things to do than be on the internet. And no, the other “predictors” weren’t nobodies either. I still don’t give them (or anyone else who makes a prediction, no matter how “big” they are) any credence.

Perhaps you should warn the poor people of Nepal that you will be sending an earthquake their way because of Rabbi Pinto?
May 20, 2015 4:45 pm at 4:45 pm #1083157Avi KParticipantGavra, he did not specify but wrote generally. However, being that you brought them up, today’s secularists do not come up to their heels in evildoing. So ?? ???, ??? ???? ?? ?? ?????
May 20, 2015 6:54 pm at 6:54 pm #1083158BarryLS1Participantgavra_at_work: You don’t have to be anything to learn these things. Maybe you should look into it yourself.
We were also told that the closer we get to Moshiach’s arrival, we will have more insight to his arrival.
Personally, I’ve read a lot on it from very reliable sources. That doesn’t mean anyone can specifically say when, but that it’s close.
May 20, 2015 8:03 pm at 8:03 pm #1083159gavra_at_workParticipantBarryLS1 – That is what everyone says, but they have said that many times in our history. Sometimes we just get a disappointment, other times we get a Shabbtzai Tzvi. I’ll stick to the words of Hashem via the Malach Micha’el to Daniel over others’ soothsaying, thanks.
Avi – The Satmar Rov would certainly disagree 🙂 Besides, once I have a counterexample, the whole point of someone in EY automatically being a Tzaddik is disproved.
May 21, 2015 4:01 am at 4:01 am #1083160Avi KParticipantGavra,
1. Rav Kook would disagree witht he Satmar rebbe.
2. How can you have a counterexample? Are you a navi? Rambam says (Hilchot Teshuva 3:1) that a tzaddik is someone whose mitzvot outweigh his aveirot. Rav Dessler says in “Kuntras HaBechira” that a person is judged on the point (“nekudat habechira”) where he has free choice. Where because of his circumstances (upbringing, life experiences, etc.) he does not have choice in either direction he is not judged. for example, a normal person does not wake up in the morning and debate whether or not he should commit murder. On the other hand, someone brought up in a secular atmosphere would not think twice about being mechallel Shabbat. This is simply the lifestyle he knows. This is the essence of being a tinnok shenishba.
May 21, 2015 12:51 pm at 12:51 pm #1083161gavra_at_workParticipantAvi, you aren’t addressing my points at all. I agree with everything you said, but my original points are still valid.
May 22, 2015 10:47 am at 10:47 am #1083162Avi KParticipantGavra, which original points? I was addressing your contention that the Chessed l’Avraham was referring to “people like Achitofel, Doeg, Achav and Menashe”.
May 22, 2015 2:41 pm at 2:41 pm #1083163gavra_at_workParticipantGavra, which original points? I was addressing your contention that the Chessed l’Avraham was referring to “people like Achitofel, Doeg, Achav and Menashe”.
“??? ??? ?? ??? ???? ????? ???? ????”
By saying ??, “everyone”, means that if there is even one exception, that counterexample proves that the statement is incorrect. I have brought at least four counterexamples.
If you would like to say that “most” people in EY are Tzaddikim (which is what I think you mean, and has no relevance to our prior discussion), I would like to know the reason for your conjecture (which would not be the pasuk, as we see there were those who were not spit out).
May 25, 2015 5:00 am at 5:00 am #1083164Avi KParticipantGavra, you forgot the next clause “?? ????? ?????? ??? ?????”. We do n ot know who is considered a tzaddik and who is not in Hashem’s eyes.
May 26, 2015 1:13 pm at 1:13 pm #1083165gavra_at_workParticipantAvi K – If you wish to claim that “people like Achitofel, Doeg, Achav and Menashe” were Tzaddikim when Chazal said they were not, Kol HaKavod. I’ll let Chazal (and the facts) speak for themselves.
May 26, 2015 3:18 pm at 3:18 pm #1083166Avi KParticipantGavra, so how come the Land did not eject them? The answer is that he term “rasha” has different meanings in different contexts. In Hilchot Eidut a rasha is someone who deliberately violated any halacha, even a derabban (Shulchan Aruch Choshen Mishpat 34:2-3 with Rema). As Rambam agrees with this (Hilchot Eidut 10:3) yet says in Hilchot Teshuva (3:1) that a tzaddik is someone whose mitzvot outweigh his aveirot we must say that these terms have different definitions depending on the context.
May 26, 2015 3:28 pm at 3:28 pm #1083167gavra_at_workParticipantAvi – I dealt with that 6 days ago. You can speculate as much as you wish, though.
May 28, 2015 5:55 pm at 5:55 pm #1083168nfgo3MemberCowabunga, opening poster. You study-um American history, you see genocide already happen to pre-Columbian Americans. Why you think-um Jews no wear feathers – to be safe.
