The title says (nearly) all.
This is for a group of 5-10 awesome sem girls.
Should be accessible by public transportation and (obviously) as cheap as possible. (We’re sem girls after all…)
Also, can someone please explain to me the concept of hakafot shniyot? Someone mentioned it to me as something cool to see and I was a bit shocked. Is it something that someone who keeps two days is even allowed to go to?
October 7, 2014 7:57 pm at 7:57 pm #1035918Patur Aval AssurParticipantPtil Tekhelet factory tour. It costs 10 NIS per person.
October 7, 2014 8:41 pm at 8:41 pm #1035919interjectionParticipantThe Lifta. It’s an abandoned Arab village by the entrance to the city on the Begin Highway. The views are gorgeous and it’s cool to see all the old houses. There’s also a little cave you could go inside.

October 7, 2014 11:44 pm at 11:44 pm #1035922News 4 uParticipantHakafot shniot is the term Israelies use for Simchas Torah vs Shmini Atzeres. They like to join the “American” hakafos and chap arein an extra day of yom tov spirit.
October 7, 2014 11:46 pm at 11:46 pm #1035923tsedraytParticipantThe chevron concert is on sunday first day chol hamoed. I would suggest going to binyani hauma and taking egged busses instead of the heimeshe busses on shmuel hanavi cuz egged only charges 18 shek roundtrip. Its very happening there and u may have a serious case of fomo if u don’t go.

October 8, 2014 7:17 am at 7:17 am #1035926SayIDidIt™ParticipantHakafot Shniyot takes place the night of Chutz La’aretz’s Simchas Torah (Isru Chag in EY). Many places bring musicians and have Hakafot and dancing for a number of hours! There is no problem for someone keeping Yom Tov to go and enjoy him/herself. Just remember, if you are eating the Simchas Torah meal by somebody not to come too late. Try to find out beforehand what time to come (everyone goes to Hakafot so it may be a bit hard to calculate exactly.) Enjoy!
October 8, 2014 10:19 am at 10:19 am #1035927shteigParticipantI second Interjection’s idea. Just be careful not to go into any structures that look like they could be on the way to falling. Amd check out the general safey – maybe take a male with you.
It could also be an experience to walk along the light-rail tracks (from around he tanchana area) all the way to the ????. There’s usually a great atmosphere on ???”?.
The Israel Museum is another idea.

But there were some great ideas! We (coincidentally) did at least three of them and they were a LOT of fun :).
