Hi, I was wondering if any of you know anything about commuting to Columbia from Monsey and if someone can provide me with tips for the best parking options near there? In addition, any tips for taking the bus from Fort Lee to GWB terminal and somehow getting to the hospital would be a huge help as well. Thanks in advance!!

Always nice to see new faces around here 🙂
December 29, 2013 11:57 pm at 11:57 pm #997511nishtdayngesheftParticipantOn a regular basis? Or occasional?
December 30, 2013 12:56 am at 12:56 am #997512aishes choverParticipantDriving: Take upper level of GWB. Follow signs to 178 St. exit. Stay in right lane.
For Milstein’s (adults): Turn right on Ft. Washington Ave. (1st right after bridge). Straight to 168 St.
For Children’s (including maternity): Turn right on Broadway (2nd right after bridge). Straight to 165 St.
There’s a parking lot (don’t know price) at 165 St. and Ft. Washington Ave (at Milstein Building) with valet option.
Alternatively, you can catch a white mini-bus from Fort Lee- runs along Route 4 until right before the bridge) to GWB terminal; they run quite frequently (maybe every 10-15 minutes).
From bus terminal to hospital:
1) Walk straight down Fort Washington Avenue until 168 (for Milstein’s) or 165 (for Children’s, then turn left onto 165, next block is Broadway).
OR
2)Take M4 citibus at Ft. Wash Ave from GWB terminal straight down to 168 or 165 St. (Make sure you’re going in right direction.)
OR
3)Take car service to hospital 212-927-1500.

A fourth option:
The 175th Street station on the A train has an exit at the terminal (with a long walk to the train platforms); take it one stop to 168th Street. You will not get a seat during rush hour.

Which train from Monsey stops at 175th?
That was the question, from Monsey.
There are bikur cholim vans if your are going to visit or are have someone who is in the hospital or need to see a doctor. I do not think they are available for a regular commute.

None. I was only addressing getting from the bus terminal to the medical center.

January 1, 2014 3:05 am at 3:05 am #997518147ParticipantGWB toll is $13, but please KEEP every receipt, because if you are a patient or visiting a relative, every penny spent on tolls and on gas, is Tax Deductible.
If you take car service, be sure to ask fro a receipt, and retain it.
& of-course keep receipts spent today in 2013 separate from receipts spent tomorrow during 2014, as they pertain to 2 different tax years.
