I am a student at a secular college. I finished my last final exam today. I have a weekend trip this weekend that I started planning around sukkos. Given the fact that I have been in school every week four days a week since the beginning of June with the exception of missing class for yamim tovim, I am not sure how to handle having five weeks off of school. I am not sure if I could even find a temporary nanny job.

December 18, 2014 1:40 am at 1:40 am #1049537VogueMembersem613: I would take a college course but I feel like I really need the break and I also had a really hectic semester and took a three week intersession course between the regular summer school and the beginning of the school year.

I hope to have another one scheduled in a bit over a month (that was a surprise to me as well, same town). Given the fact that it is almost Christmas, my Mom has a bunch of time off of work over the next few weeks and my brother is on break from school as well (although I will be the last one to go back to school because I am in college and neither of them are). On one hand, I luckily am getting to chill a bit, but on the other hand, I also am able to catch up on important things as well. My weekend trip last weekend was like a spiritual spa trip for me and was a great opportunity to make new connections to amazing people.

December 25, 2014 11:43 pm at 11:43 pm #1049540VogueMemberSecular colleges have longer winter breaks. My break is over a month long. A Jewish college typically only gives one week or 10 days for break.
