Any ideas what do do on chol hamoed near monsey?
Lay Tefilin with a Berocho as per the Remo.
On your way out of any grocery store, by the exit, pick up a commnity connections, front page, and access magazines (and whatever else they have there).
Ads should be posted there by now- if not now, next week- about recreation.
The Yated also has a Chol hamoed Outing list.
