@ my Shul, the members of the Chevra Kadisha do their task gratis; It is a privilege to be involved with such a great Mitzwah, and they wouldn’t wish to detract from the Kovod hoAcharon by being paid in this world.
Kohanim can only have token share in this Mitzwah, by cutting planks of wood for a coffin, before the coffin is brought to the deceased, or by helping with Shiva Minyanim.
havarka -“do you know if there is possibility of getting job in it in NY? Have a experience.”
The Chevra Kadisha guys are usually volunteer, but you could work for a Jewish Chapel. Like most jobs -you need connections, not necessarily experience.
I’m also on a C”K here, and it’s all done gratis. I can’t say I don’t feel anything, not even if I don’t know the person. It’s also sad sometimes to see how little some of the families know about even basic Yiddishkeit.
