for 2 weeks there where terrible attacks going on in e”y, and b”h the DAY that bein hazmanim was over, the amount and intensity of the attacks went down drastically (to close to none).what could be better proof to the idf, that the tora is our nations protector?

do they still want our boys and men to quit their learning and join them in the army?!

The correlation between the zman starting and the attacks abating is nice, but doesn’t “prove” that Torah protects us.

That Chaza”l say it protects us is what proves it.

Someone holding in the manner of the Satmarer Rebbe would respond that attacks are the result of Jews going off the derekh and giving up the lifestyle based on Torah and Mitsvos, and embracing the secular lifestyle of zionism (which includes conquering, ruling and disposessing the Palestinians, which is what set off the current violence which has been going on, more or less, for almost a century). If someone is throwing firebombs at buildings, is it better to concentrate on putting out the fires (joining the IDF) or to concentrate on getting those throwing the firebombs to stop (by keeping alive the derekh of Torah and Mitsvos).

First put out the fire then prevent it from happening again.

    By focusing on the latter.

We need both. If someone is really learning and has a future as a Tora leader he should receive a deferment. However, if he is slacking off he should join the IDF and then get a profession and a job.

PostSem: You have to be wrong. Not because you are, but because of what it implies. If the Yeshivos being on Bein HaZmanim is what caused these attacks to happen, then the Yeshivos are culpable for the blood that was spilled. I refuse to say it was their fault. Therefore, I reject your logic.

Sam, perhaps considering the matzav, bein hazmanim should have been cut short. It’s happened before.

The yeshivos giving off for bein hazmanim is a direct result of the culture we live in. So you can blame the culture we live in.

The culture we live in is based on our leadership in this world. So you can blame the potus.

The potus is a direct result of muslims. So you can blame the attacks on the muslims.

There is also a much shorter route. The attacks were made by the muslims. And therefore blame it on them.
